stressed, sad, nervous ...
if you all remember the issues we have had with Cody ....
I finally managed to talk to his father today, for the first time in over 2 years. Things with Cody keep getting bad, nothing changes. So I phoned his father's work and said it was an emergency, he had to call me. And amazingly, he did. He will be here tomorrow, to pick Cody up. He is going to go stay with his father for a while ... not sure how long at this point. We all need the break in our house, and he needs the time with his father. Stressing out though that he won't be finishing up the school year here. Not even sure if he will be able to do his exams at a different school ... but not like his grades were that good anyways (C- and lower for all his "core" subjects). Sad cause I am gonna miss him like crazy, and I know his siblings will too (eventually anyways, I am sure they are going to enjoy him not being able to torment them). Nervous, cause he is heading to a major city (Edmonton), and he is used to small town living now. Do you know what kinda trouble a 14yo can get into in a city? lol

(((hugs))) Sonja! I hope that it works out the way you hope it will, and that he won't get into trouble in the city (maybe he won't...it takes kids a while to find new friends at that age)

{{{{{Hugs}}}}}} I sure hope your son's dad can help him. I am going through something similar with my DD. She is just SO out of control that I am lost as to what to do with her. I hope everything works out for your DS.

Huge hugs, Sonja. You're doing the right thing. I know what this stress is like, and it weighs so hard on the whole family. A break will do you all so much good.

This is, absolutely, the best thing for Cody. You are a good mom, and your family and your son will reap the benefits soon. Hang in there.

Sonja...how is your family doing right now? Is it feeling a bit less stressed there at home? Any updates from Cody's father on him? {{hugs}} for what you have been going through.

well, he left here Tuesday mid-morning, his dad drove down halfway on Monday, and then the rest of the way Tuesday morning. It has been quiet. The kids are missing him a little, Xander has taken to sleeping in Cody's bed (not sure if it's cause he misses Cody or because it is bigger than his own bed. lol). So far, my family has been very understanding, Cody was supposed to go spend the summer with my parents and visit with his dad's parents. He was also supposed to come with us to my brother's wedding in three weeks, but he will be missing that. My Mom, stepdad, brother, and Des' parents all understand he needs to be with his dad .... his dad's parents and brother on the other hand keep questioning why I sent him so quickly and easily. Well, I grew up without my father being a major pressence in my life, I know what it feels like. I would never say no to my children in a case like this.
He has a schedule for his exams to be completed, so if he passes them, he moves onto grade 9 like he should. If he doesn't he can complete summer school this summer to stay where he should be. His father got him a cell phone so that we can all get ahold of him anytime we want (his father works 30 minutes away from where they live, on a good drive, so he wanted to be able to reach him no matter where either of them are). So far, everything seems to be going ok. Now I have to figure out what kind of authorization letter I need to send to Ryan (Cody's dad), for school records, medical authorization, and also so Cody can get his Learner's License for driving (it's 14 in the province he now lives in). We have joint custody, with me being sole guardian. It has never been an issue in the 10 years that the order has been in place. I also have to figure out what to do to stop Ryan from having to make child support payments, since it is through our Provincial Maintenance agency. And I guess I have switch Child Tax from me to Ryan. Ugh.
