Default Any Barbie Fans?

SOoo I may be dating myself here but I was a HUGE Barbie collector when I was a kid and for Barbie's 50th anniversary Mattel is bringing back 1 famous Barbie from each decade and is doing a reproduction of the original doll.

Well I had the entire Barbie and the Rockers series in the 80s and I was so surprised to see her on the list of dolls they're reproducing. Check her out...

Such a blast to the past!

I had that Barbie too... all that remains is her jacket... which happens to be one of DD's favorite clothing items for the dolls.

I had that one and so many others - really wish that I had kept them. I do have a few collector Barbies that I totally love and I think my Mom is even getting me another one for Christmas...lol. My daughter has a ton, but only because I buy them wanting to play with them myself. She's not as big a fan as I am.

That's really cool
I was a little old for that one (now I'm dating myself ) I had the Malibu Barbie (and all her friends, of course! LOL!). In fact, I still love Barbie so much that I have the Holiday Barbies in my office here at work.

I used to work at a high end toy store. We sold Bob Mackie barbies, Madame Alexander dolls, and soooooooooooooo much more.

I remember one time ringing up a sale OVER $1000 in the early 1990s. These particular parents had two kids and this was just PART of their Christmas toys.

Too cool!

I had quite a few...the late-70s Ballerina Barbie and Kissing Barbie come to mind...and the Sunshine Family...Donny & Marie in those hideous purple/silver getups...

Sadly, all of my dolls, accessories, and clothes (alot of them handmade by mom) were stored in the attic in Houston...BAD idea. When they were pulled out as I was getting ready to move, they had melted into one fleshy colored blob of plastic with bits of hair and fabric sticking out.

Rachel is into Barbie bigtime now...I have to admit I've bought a few I won't let her play with LOL...and had a replica of my wedding gown made for Barbie as well.

I loved Barbies, but I didn't have that one. I had some similarly styled clothes, though. I can't wait until DD is old enough for Barbie.

I was a Barbie Girl!!! I had that Barbie and the Ken doll too, with the plastic spiked hair. I called him Derek, which is ironic, because that is my youngest son's name. I must have really liked that name. I had the Rockers dance club that looked like a record. Anyone with me here?
I had the 3 floor house and the pool and the corvette. I really loved my Barbies. Now I want to call my cousin Sue and borrow her RV. We lived to play in our grandma's basement with the Barbies.

I wasn't fortunate enough to get a Ken doll. We improvised and used another barbie that we didn't like so much. We cut her hair and dressed her in the most boyish looking clothes we had. Yep, my barbies led interesting lives.

I only had one Ken doll, so all the girls shared him. Ooh...how progressive back in the early 70's LMAO!

My friends and I would setup all our stuff - house, beauty shop, airplane, pool and have a big ol' fat time. Then my brother (and the brothers of my friends) would come tearing through with their GI Joes and slaughter all our Barbies. Ah...good times!

LOL!! My brothers played demolition derby with my (plastic) barbie car and their (metal) tonka truck. Yeah, you can guess the results.
