Default Any stellar ideas for a yummy pot-luck dish?

Going to an ornament exchange with Jenny tonight and I have no idea what to make.

Everything I think of seems super lame.

Any amazing, fairly easy ideas you care to share?

Pleasy pleasy lemon squeezey.

are you looking for a main dish? side dish? dessert?

personally I think you should go with your trusty standby -- pack of Capri Suns

One that has always been a hit with my buds is Caramel Apple Dip: Blend together 8 ounces softened cream cheese, 1/2 cup regular sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar and a splash of vanilla. Serve with sliced apples (although any fruit would work- apples are good because they hold up to the dipping part). It is sooo yummy! HTH!

One of our favorites is shrimp dip. Super easy and super yummy. And I usually bring home an empty plate.

1 pkg. cream cheese
1 bottle cocktail sauce
1 can small shrimp, rinsed and drained (usually found in the same grocery store aisle as the canned tuna)
1 box of your favorite crackers (we always use Townhouse)

Spread the cream cheese on a plate. Spread cocktail sauce on top of cream cheese. Spread out the shrimp on top of the cocktail sauce. Cover and refrigerate until serving. Serve with crackers.

Party Potatoes

  • 32 oz bag of frozen shredded or cubed hash browns
  • 2 (10 3/4 oz) cans Cream of Chicken Soup
  • 2 cups Sour Cream
  • 1 1/2 cup grated Cheddar Cheese (I like to use sharp Cheddar Cheese)
  • 1/2 cup melted butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 2 cups finely crushed Corn Flakes
  • 2 Tbs butter or margarine melted

Directions
  1. Grease 9x13 baking dish and preheat oven to 350
  2. In large bowl combine soups, sour cream, cheese, onions, and the 1/2 cup of melted butter.
  3. Gently fold hash browns into mixture.
  4. Pour mixture into pan.
  5. Combine crushed corn flakes and the 2 Tbs. of melted butter and sprinkle on top of potato mixture.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes.
  7. *If wanting to, you can use cubed potatoes instead of hash browns but you will need to increase baking time to 55 minutes.

OR, if you have a Costco close by, go buy their Artichoke Jalapeno Dip, spread it in a baking dish and bake until golden brown. Serve with water crackers or sliced baguette.

One thing that goes like crazy here is some sort of layered nacho thing...it's layers of salsa, sourcream and cheese, served with crackers/tortilla chips.

I almost always take lasagne, and rarely take any home. Another one I like to make is baked spaghetti...you make the spaghetti noodles, grate some cheese, brown some ground beef...then toss it all together with spaghetti sauce, mix it and throw it in a big casserole dish, top with a bit more cheese and bake for 30 minutes or so. People LOVE it. I've made it with chicken instead of beef before too and that went over really well.
