Default I just can't help it...

So I have all my paper Project Life stuff here and ready to go, but you know what I'm doing???

I created a digital template of the page protector so I can "plan" out my photos and where the journaling will go. I'm so used to being able to delete that I'm afraid I'll fill a journal spot that I need for a pic.

Why oh why didn't I just do the digital thing?

(breathe in...breathe out...breathe in...breathe out)

haha, you're funny, Tracy!! I know I tried to traditionally scrap a few weeks ago and I just sat there not knowing what to do - I finally went to my computer to sketch out a layout... and then since it was all sketched out, I just did it digitally... haha... my paper supplies are still laying out, waiting...

Lol. You silly girls. Don't you know . . . once you go digi, you never go back . . . at least not ALL the way back.

I gave all of my paper supplies to my sister. Once I went digital I just couldn't go back to paper. I was so afraid to cut a piece of paper because well what if I end up not liking it? My sister is in heaven and I'm happy that I cleared out a whole closet! Now I can buy more shoes .

Tracy my love, let go of the perfection. You can't mess this up. There are no wrong spots for journaling, or wrong spots for photos. Ya gotta relax a little babe, and go with the flow.

When I started PL I used to sketch out each week in a notebook so I'd know what pics I wanted to print and then I'd know what spaces I had for journaling and stuff. Then I decide it was just easier to use a template because I had to make the little pics to fit the second row anyway. So now I use a template to plan out each week, crop my pics, etc. I make my inserts using my favorite digi kit of the week and then try to add a little something hybridy as I put it together.

It is really hard to go away from digi, but I bet as time moves on and you get busy and little less focused on it the journaling cards and inserts are going to be easier to work with. You just have to get your flow.

And if you think you aren't going to use all your journal cards, inserts, etc you can always sell me some of them.

i don't think there is anything wrong with that approach. in the long run it will make it faster to print it out!

I found these 'planing pages' on the web for PL: http://amyjaz.blogspot.com/2011/12/p...life-2012.html

I have also found some where the person used design elements or like Misty's Shapelet type style - where on w=one 1/2 of the 4x6 there was a photo and th eother part was journaling. Then the whole 4x6 was placed in the sheet protector 4x6 slot. It looked really pulled together.

I have also sent some of the papers from the kits off to be printed in 4x6 so that I can use them in my PL sleeves.

Robin - thanks for the link...great planner!

Tracy, that's the beauty of PL..you can't do it wrong! I know my album will be a mish-mash of hybrid and digital...Go with what feels right for you and it will be perfect!

I didn't mean to imply that it was wrong to do it that way. I mean, it makes sense to combine your digi-talents with the hybrid/traditional aspect. I just meant that it's more important to not get caught up in the small stuff, like journaling in the wrong place. KWIM?

Well Tracy, I bought the paper PL kit, but it's not here yet. So I bought the digital stuff too! LOL
I can't help myself. I want to do the paper, so that we can all tuck things in there as we go and it takes me too long to print my digital stuff. But my heart is truly with digi.

I bought the matching templates, lol! I didn't buy any of the journaling cards so I wanted to make sure I printed everything the size it needed to be and didn't make a disaster of everything, lol. It's more freeing for me to do it this way.
