Default Let's talk photo editing

So I'm horrible at it... Totally clueless.

What's easy and simple? Lightroom... Radlab... Something else...

Good question.
I experimented with perfect effects 8 (free). I almost always just run some sort of an action over my photos. (typically high def / low sharpen and sometimes a lighten slightly or a color pop or a boost) I think they were all free but I can't remember.

I've heard about rad lab. Not sure what the store is with it and what it does specifically. Maybe check youtube and see if there are any demos of what you can use it for? If you just want something easy and simple, I don't think there is anything easier than running a quick action.

Rad lab is at totally rad actions, you can download the trial for 30 days I think. At least you use to be able to. I think that is next on my list. I use a few Lightroom presets, but I do clean, simple edits for the most part. I like LR to adjust colors, exposure in big batches.

I have RadLab and I also got the Perfect Photo Suite recently when they had a good deal. I organize my photos in Aperture, which is the Mac equivalent to Lightroom, and I do some basic editing in there as well.

I use RadLab as well. Like Vanessa said - you can download the 30 day trial from their website. I did that first and totally fell in love <3 They usually have good sales around black friday and at some point in the spring (super helpful - I know!)

I use Photoshop Elements and RadLab on almost every photo. I've had RadLab for years and love it!

RadLab. Once I tried that, I hardly use actions, unless it is for blemishes.

I LOVE CameraBag 2. It's a simple photo filter app. I think I use it on almost all layouts. I always have it open side by side with PS while scrapping.

I just bought RadLab during their last sale, and idk how I lived without it. It's even easier than actions if you can believe that!

Geez. Sorry about that. The send button is too close to the back button on my iPad. Anyway, I love rad lab too. I use Lightroom, Radlab and PSE 12. Hoping to be able to do more webinar training to learn more features for Lightroom and PSE - after the shadow box challenges. ;-)

I use Lightroom and Photoshop. Most times I open up Lightroom when I want to edit a batch of photos at a time.

I am still an old clunker. I don't use lightroom, or radlab... I just search YouTube for tutorials on the photo effect or edit I'm looking for. Or I experiment with color overlays and play around with the filters and tools in Photoshop. Mostly I use the 4 actions I've made all the time. I have a vintage one, a color boost, a sharpening one, and a BW one. The vintage effect I use all the time is shared in my tutorial here: Honey Coated Vintage.

Thanks ladies. Thinking I might give Radlab a go...

Brook, you can't be more of an old clunker than I am...at least you're doing something. All I do is remove my zits...

I have never used Rad Lab, so I just looked at their site. Is it just actions, LR presets and plug ins? Or is there something else too?

I think it's like a plug in.

When you load a photo in it, it shows you like 15 different (not sure how many) edits at once, and you can do recipes to create different looks as well. I think you can use it in LR as well, I've only tried it in PS.

I use LR and Radlab plugin in PS. I have saved a radlab recipe for my general all-purpose edit and then created an action with a hotkey to run it. So I just hit one key and it does it all. All I have to do is close and save. So easy.

I use plugins from Topaz Labs. I'm using PSP but I believe they also work with PS.

I'm a big lover of my Lightroom. lol I have an awesome set of step-by-step presets that I LOVE and use if I'm trying to be quick, but I prefer going in and doing all my editing on my own. Nothing makes me happier than to sit and edit photos. lol
