Default NSBR: Lego Miniseries 5- How to tell

Yes I am a Lego geek and this weekend when I should be cleaning/decluttering the house for sale, I spent my time buying the new lego minifigures. They all have the same barcode but if you look on the very bottom seam on the back they have raised dots (kinda like braille) and you can tell by the dots what is in each. So for you all I created a dot guide (and because I am that geeky):

Thought I'd share!

oh my gosh... I NEED NEED NEED the graduate one! My oldest son (a lego maniac and future engineer) would love it. I'll have to stick it away for 3 more years until he graduates college!

How much do they sell one of those packs for in toystores? Do they come with 1 in each (I'm assuming)? My son loves legos, but he always separates all the people figures so the price not be worth it for me to buy him some... They're really cute though

NICE! Thanks! We hate duplicates. Although if you go an actual LEgo store and get them, you can trade them in for ones already open in the workers' "collections" for what you want.

There used to be a barcode scanner app for my phone. I think that was just series one though... I think they changed it so it wouldn't work anymore.

Anyway. Thank you!

Found mine at Target for $2.99. One per pack.

They are released for the series and then not released again (so they say) although you can find them on ebay or whatever or trade.

And yes the lumberjack does have a beaver on his hat!

I did a google search for the dot code when I was at Target on Saturday and couldn't find one on my smartphone so that is why I created one (and shared).

Help!

I went to Target and studied the backs of those packets. I figured out the lumberjack and got him. But I couldn't figure out the graduate one. I saw some that were possibilities, but I couldn't figure out if they were mobsters or graduates. Those dots are HARD to see! Any advice on figuring that out?

Honestly the lighting at Target is the worst. I really had a hard time seeing the dots there, but then at home they were much more clear. You can also feel around in there to see what is in it. The mobster has the big case and the graduate has a square hat and a square diploma. Feel around and you can always feel a large base plate, a body, a head, and a legs- the other things are the extras that you need to feel for.

So either buy both and return one/both after looking at them in better light. You aren't opening them so they are returnable. Or you can stand there in Target feeling them like I did for an hour! LOL

Mobster dots are on the same level/line and the graduate the one on the right is slightly further down. They are very similar and hard to see in store light!

Yeah I had a heck of a time with a few of them. Fortunately the palace guard has that big hat. I still ended up with 2 cleopatras & no Sherlock. The lighting in my house is worse than Target I think. I stood in the aisle at Target for about 20 minutes scrutinizing & feeling up every single Lego packet on the display. I did end up with 5 of the 7 I wanted, plus a second Cleo and a clown. The boys were happy with the clown but I'm headed to Wal Mart to see if I can figure out the mobster & Sherlock today

Why did I open this post? Now Im going to become obsessed with these. And I hate that there are 4 series that I didn't get in on. I picked up 4 tonight at Target- I just felt around in the packages and got the Royal Guard, Dinosaur, Boxer, and dwarf.
