Default Color/Style help

Ok so I think we might be stuck in this apartment here in Kuwait unless a miracle happens. We looked at another place but it just didn't have the space. So we'll make do I guess. Anyway...our bathrooms are well...dated. I'm guessing built in the 80s but who knows. One is pink (playroom bathroom), the boys' is blue, and ours is a soft baby teal/green color. Not our style at all, but its what the sink, tub, toilet and bidet are colored so we have no choice (and we can't paint either). So I'm trying to bring in a nice shower curtain to at least tone down or go with the color and make it a little more modern. So I was thinking with ours and the soft teal/green that I'd do a dark gray for the towels, rug and shower curtain. I looked on Target and found a couple that might work and want your opinions or other suggestions.

First here's the bathroom in all its glory (yes including toilet paper and pepto on the floor, how classy I know!):

and here are the two I'm looking at:

and

But again, I'll take other suggestions. I already have a gray rug and towels coming (I forgot our guest bath had them in TX and almost ordered them again). So I'd like to stick with gray.

Thanks guys!

I'm more drawn to the second option here - I think it will bring your attention to the beautiful shower curtain instead of the lovely colored toilet/sink.

I feel for ya, we're working with goldenrod toilets in our house, until we get to that point in our remodeling!

I like the top one better but think the bottom is a better choice for that bathroom

ooo - Living the nightmare here too - sometimes I really wonder how Italy cornered the market on fashion - they have some interesting ideas for bath decor - I went with straight white fabric curtain with white towels - for like a spa thing..... I have brown tile up my 10 foot high walls .......

I think gray accents is a great idea with the light teal. I like the second curtain better because I think it needs to be strong to offset the other color.

I like the 2nd option best, too.

So - how are you getting along with the bidet?

2nd option here, too. You need the stronger color to make it the focal point instead of the teal.

One of our bathrooms has a lovely maize colored tub. It's okay for now because we did a duck theme in there (kids' bathroom), but we'll need to find a good color scheme for it eventually.

Thanks guys that is how I was leaning too. I love the pattern on the first but I don't think the gray is strong enough to counter-balance the other color.

I thought about going all white but that seems to make the color more strong, but if I had brown half-way up the walls, I'd need something to lighten it as well Nonnie.

And Darcy, don't even go there. I'm just waiting for the day my boys decide to wash their hands/face/whatever in there. I'm trying to concoct a way to cover them up. But with no Home Depot...its going to be hard. And maybe it is just my arrogant American ignorance but I just don't get the idea, nor even really know how its used. TP good enough for my tush. At least the soft Charmin anyway...I'm kinda picky but thankfully they do carry that here!

We used the bidet for washing feet and soaking swimsuits, lol. that was it. It was also great for filling with hot soapy water when I mopped the floor so I didn't get a bucket out, lol

It worked great since our bathrooms were at opposite ends of the house, hehe! I could do each half with one bathroom and not get the bucket out...and just pull the drain when I was done, no heavy bucket of gross water.

oh Jen... that's awesome LOL!!!

I'm with the majority and think the 2nd one will help tone down the teal and be very pretty.
