Default I could use some prayers (warning: TMI)

**Updated in post #36**

I wasn't going to mention it but the pregnant thread got me going and I figured I could really use all the prayers I could get. I'm scared. So here goes...

I have been dealing with the crazy symptoms of PCOS and although they think I had it from very young (because they slapped me on BCPs back when I was a young teen not even a year after my periods started) I think it was the BCPs that ruined me. I was on BCPs for a LONG time - about 11 years and I stopped taking them I got married because we wanted to try for kids. Once I stopped taking them I got no periods at all. So I had to take Provera to get the periods going again. After a few rounds of that they started on their own and almost a year later I got PG. Well after the pregnancy no periods again. This has been going on and on and on. I've tried Metformin and all it did was tear my stomach up and I now have GI problems from it and it never helped with my periods. So after over a year of that I stopped taking it then a couple days later my period came. It was longer than a normal one but I figured that was since I had not had one in so long. Then it stopped and a couple weeks later started again but this time it was different and not like a normal period (very random) and it did not stop this has been going on since end of January. Finally after so many trips to the doctor he prescribed me Ayegestin (to get the bleeding to stop) and also to get Ultrasounds (both regular and internal). I took one pill and not even an hour later had such bad chest pains and couldn't breathe very well. I didn't know if it was from that or if I was getting sick. So they told me to stop taking it until the symptoms went away and try it again. Well, the next day the bleeding stopped. I had the ultrasounds done and a few days passed and still no bleeding. I was happy until the 5th day...bleeding came back but this was like a normal period. Then I got the call with my US results. They said my lining is VERY THICK (2.1 cm) and I needed to be scheduled right away for a hysteroscopy and also a biopsy.

So, I go in June 2nd for this and I'm scared!!!! I looked up abnormal bleeding and thick lining and it all points to cancer. I'd appreciate the prayers and/or good thoughts. I'm going to drive myself nuts with the nerves.

Thanks girls!! Hope this was okay to post.

Hugs,
Megan

Megan it is a scary thing and like the other girls said googling stuff only makes it worst because online is always "worst case scenario." It could just be something really simple like your progesterone is out of wack and causes the missed periods and with every missed period your lining will get thicker and thicker. My Mom ended up having a Ablation done for similar problems of course she was going through menapause at the time and wasn't such a big deal for her to have that done. Hang in there for the Dr.'s visits and results and know you will be in all of our thoughts. *HUGS*

I had about the same thing 6 months ago and had to have a hysterectomy. It is the best thing I have had done. I had it with the divinci robot and was in a little discomfort but no pain. If you have to have the hysterectomy see if they can do it with the robot. No more periods are great. I love it.

Stop googling!! Don't do it again! You'll make yourself crazy.

A thick lining can be caused by lots of things and from your history of long stretches without bleeding I'd bet that it's probably just lots of buildup. My sis had something simliar a few years ago and a simple d&c got her all straightened out. When I was going through infertility I even had times when my lining would be thicker than usual and my doc said that over time, it can actually cause adhesions that will attach to your ovaries etc...which I did have and had an exploratory lap to remove. So..it can be any number of things...just don't google anymore okay?

Oh how scary I'm so sorry. {{hugs}} You will be in my thoughts and prayers. I hope everything goes smoothly. It is hard but try to refrain from the research . It IS hard not to though. I had a scare a few years ago and I made myself crazy with all the stuff I was finding. It's terrible. Great big {{hugs}} again hun.

Thanks girls for all the T&Ps You girls aren't the only ones scolding me for googling! LOL! My mom has been yelling at me for googling! It's hard not to though.

Thank you so much Nikki for giving me hope that it could be something else. I really hope that's the case.

Megan, I can definitely say googling illnesses is a dangerous thing. I had tremors in my hand and thumb a few months ago. Of course, the easiest explanation was that I was spending way too much time on my computer......but of course, after googling and youtubing, I was convinced I had ALS. Crazy huh? There is actually a syndrome now for it...it is call "Cyberchondria". Yeah, that is me.

Try to remain positive ... usually the simplest explanation tends to be the answer. You have had a long history of abnormal periods....it wouldn't surprise me if this was just another complication from your "condition".

I will keep you in my thoughts.

Susan

Thanks for all the P & PT everyone!!

I had the procedures done yesterday - I was so scared to go in for it. Although it wasn't something I would want to get done often, it wasn't AS bad as I thought it would be. I felt a bit dizzy/lightheaded right after. Cramping was probably the worst thing to deal with. Today I feel a lot better.

Now, it's the waiting game for results. I'm not sure how long it will take to get the results of the biopsy but he said he would call me as soon as he gets them. The one good thing is he didn't see anything suspicious during the hysteroscopy (like polyps, fibroids, etc.). I was glad that I wasn't put under for it and just given local anesthesia because it was neat that I was able to look at the screen during the scope and he showed me what was what! LOL!

So, again, thanks for thinking of me and I'll update when I hear the results! (((HUGS)))

{{{Megan}}} I hope everything goes ok...please check in or have someone check in and let us know how you are doing.

The internet is a great source of information...but sometimes I think it has TOO much. Let's hope that all will be ok with you!

That's good Megan, I had a similar procedure done and I was awake also, it was kind of funny, like an out of body experience LOL!

Hope you get the results quickly!

Oh, Megan, I'm just seeing this all now! I'm glad the procedure is over and done with, and I'm sending you lots of good vibes and positive thoughts. {{{{HUGS}}}}

It's really quite bizarre being awake for your own surgery, isn't it? But it's also so much better for you and your recovery time. GA is so hard on our bodies. I found it fascinating when I was awake for my wrist surgery. My surgeon got them to prop me up so I could watch, lol. It's definitely very "out of body!"
