Anyone else suffer from long hauls watching youtube? I subscribe to so many channels, many of which I have followed for the last 5 years. They have got me through sleepless nights during my BC treatment and I am honestly addicted to them! There are so many sweet lovely people out there sharing their lives and talents.
I?m a sucker for DIY, Architecture, Model Making & ASMR to name a few. I?ll list some of my faves below. They are all super interesting, and just a taste of a small cross section of genres that I love to watch lol If you have some fave channels please share below I'd love to see what you guys are watching and maybe add some more to my long list hehe Van Wives Crystal & Jazmyn https://www.youtube.com/@Vanwives A lovely couple that have been building their little homestead carved out of a forest in Nova Scotia. They are edging closer to being completely self sufficient, with a massive solar array, workshop, edible garden and just planted an orchard a few months back. DIY WIFE Andrea and Dean https://www.youtube.com/@diywife Are texans and Andrea is the handy one out of the two. They renovate their home and often work on other peoples homes. They are currently on a time crunch renovating a couples house and have 30 days to complete it before the baby arrives. They have also just landed a TV licensing deal with Dabl. From The Mind of Christine McConnell https://www.youtube.com/@ChristineHMcConnell This lady is sooo talented. She moved from Twin Peaks to upstate New York into an incredibly eerie Victorian Mansion. She is so creative. I truly appreciate the moody interiors she creates and slightly spooky over tones to her spaces. She designs everything from wallpaper to soft furnishing and Frankensteins things to create really theatrical spaces. Curiosity Incorporated (Alex & Family) https://www.youtube.com/@CuriosityIncorporated Alex is an Antique dealer in Edmonton, Canada and through the years of his channel we?ve watched him pick for rare finds and met his motley crew of friends along the way. Then, he bought a hoarders house (The Potters Home) and from that ensues several video playlists of him helping families of deceased estates that are hoarders. Rummaging through (with great respect and consideration) peoples belongings. He finds some incredibly pricy gems like actual gems, collectible Art of Sotheby?s calibre, vintage cars, designer clothing all of which he owns because he generally buys the contents of the home in its entirety, sorts it, catalogues it and then sends the items to auction. Its amazing that some people live life in relative squalor but are actually super rich. He has since sold his business and now does hoarders clear outs or buys and restores collectible cars. Garden Answer Laura https://www.youtube.com/@gardenanswer I love Laura. She is so incredibly talented in the garden and along with her husband and small team of full time helpers they have created an incredible sprawling garden. They recently collaborated with other landscape designers to build the most beautiful Koi pond and have had flagstone pathing installed that meanders through the scape. She is my go too, for plant information and tips and tricks but also in my real life I want to be her friend, and tag along with her and her mum on their thrifting, antiquing days. Is that weird! lol Life Uncontained https://www.youtube.com/@life.uncontained Spencer and Kenzie describe themselves as hippies but hmm I'm not convinced either way they have been building a container home and are aiming for the Good Life ie: self sufficiency. They are now on a new adventure building a get away cabin in a forest. Super sweet family. Max & Occy https://www.youtube.com/@MaxandOccy What can I say Max is a fellow Aussie, Paramedic by trade and lives in the hinterland not far from me. He?s just bought a run down shack in a stunningly beautiful sub tropical part of the world and is renovating it. He is currently in Canada visiting friends including the Van Wives that I mentioned above. Occy is his Australian Sheppard and the two are inseparable. He has recently experienced grief and loss and shares openly those struggles but also retains a great sense of optimism. I hope he finds a nice lady, I think thats why he?s settling into this new phase of life, planting roots as he?s been travelling North and South America for years. Northern Mudlarks https://www.youtube.com/@NorthernMudlarks Are a mum and daughter team. They are mudlarkers and create the most exquisite jewellery from their mudlarking finds. If you like history, adventure and researching finds this channel has it all. Based in Scotland so it's really quite beautiful and also laden with old treasures begging to be dug up from the mud. Studson Studio (Studson Model Maker) https://www.youtube.com/@StudsonStudio This guy is just short of a genius in fact he probably is a genius. He creates the most incredible models from found objects. The ingenuity oozes from this one and his videoing style and narration is hilarious. I also love his end captions he sings all his patreons names and there are countless of them. Check him out if you like anime and middle earth. XO, MaCenna https://www.youtube.com/@XOMaCenna MaCenna is based in LA and is all girl but boy can she put her neck out and try her hand at new skills. In the last 3 years she has gone from cutesy craft DIY content to renovating a 100 year old cottage in Texas that she bought just as covid hit. She has been doing it all pretty much on her own by watching Youtube home fix it channels. Her attention to detail is amazing, so considered and thought out and she loves to thrift which is so fun to watch. I love a good thrifting session. Gemma Wheeler Architecture https://www.youtube.com/@gemmawheeler Is a British Architect that creates the most beautiful designs. She searches realestate sites to find obscure tiny homes, sheds or barns and then creates a rendered walk through of what she would do to the space. Her aesthetic is mine 100% and would give anything to engage her services. Maybe one day when I win lotto! Al Bladez https://www.youtube.com/@therealalbladez Ok so this might seem weird to you guys, but I do love me some lawn mowing action! Yep I said it might seem weird but omg watching his transformations really appease my need for nicely edged lawns and a clean up of a neglected garden, its so so satisfying. He is such a sweetheart reaching out to people that need a little help and does it all for free through revenue he?s raised on his channel. Mia Maples https://www.youtube.com/@MiaMaples What can I say Mia and her mum, Momma Maples are the sweetest. I love the fun and easy light hearted content of these ladies. Mia has carved out a healthy income from Youtube and does lots of company reviews like Shein, Temu or Celebrity brands. She also does some DIY and is currently teaching herself to sew. So thats a small selection from me, what have you got to share? |

I might be the only person that doesn’t watch YouTube. I don’t know why, just never got into it.

How good are cookie and cake decorating vids! I love a good animal one too like Hope For Paws and The Farm which is another popular Aussie one dedicated to rehabilitating rescue dogs.

I go through phases with You Tube. I mainly use it when I'm thinking about a purchase and want to see reviews or when I'm sewing or fixing something and need tutorials.

Thank you for all of the fun recommendations! I do watch Garden Answer. Laura is just the cutest! They're only about 1/2 from where we live. I'd love to run into her when she's in our area shopping (The Franz Witte nursery that she visits is only 10 minutes from us).
I've started watching YouTube videos when I'm scrapping...hoping to find some creativity. lol! |

I watch so much YouTube - I even pay for subscription because I watch it so much... mostly house decorating shows, RV and van tours, budget cooking, pantry cooking, Kat Nessbitt (flight attendant), Minimal life style... and we watch a ton of it for schooling. I would be willing to give up every streaming service (well, except for TLC and Bravo, haha)... to keep YouTube.

I don't think that I've seen The Farm. I'll have to search for it.

As much as I miss watching videos on Youtube, I am so glad that it is blocked here in China. I don't think I can afford having a Youtube addiction with all the things I have to do here...

I'm not much of a You Tube watcher, however; my hubby sure is! I think he could watch it for 8 hours straight and never get bored!

I pretty much only watch YouTube for travel vlogs (mostly Disney). My husband watches his favs between his jobs when he gets home for an hour or 2. Otherwise, I watch my Disney travel ones when I wash dishes currently (the dishwasher is broken, so I am the dishwasher).
