Default Qotd: Halloween! What do yo all do to celebrate Halloween? (10/31)

Halloween! Happy Halloween! What do yo all do to celebrate Halloween?

I really wish it was celebrated a lot more where I live. It's one of my favorite holidays.
I'd love to read how you all celebrate it.

We've been to a couple of trunk or treats (where you go to a church or other organization and they hand out candy from the trunk of their vehicles) already this month & I bought the kids Halloween Beanie Boos this past weekend.

We carved their pumpkins last Thursday, and they are sitting out on the stoop.

We're going to my sister's house (she has the best/safest neighborhood) tonight for pizza & ToT. My parents will hand out candy at my sister's house while she & I take the kids around. My nephew decided he's too old but he likes to come with us and brings their dog (who is in costume), too.

I'm not sure if my husband is meeting us there after work or going home to hide in the basement from the ToTers.

nothing as I don't have small children so it's just a regular night for me. I will however be watching game 6 of the World Series.

We had a church party Saturday night, made Halloween sugar cookies Sunday night, then carved pumpkins last night. I’m helping out in one daughter’s Halloween party at school today then we’ll run up to my mom’s work (I guess mine too ha!) and walk around there for treats. Then come home, eat quickly and go ToTing. My husband will stay home to pass out the candy while trying to read & write a school paper

Nothing too much... we will go trick or treating and then have monster eye balls with bloody pasta (meatballs and spaghetti) and mummy dogs (hot dogs wrapped in crescent dough).

We are really all about Reformation more than Halloween.

Kiddos dress up in their costumes and we take them trick or treating. We don't stay out too long though as the kiddos get tired. Then I pass out candy when we get back. Also, before the kiddos can have their candy, my husband and I look through it and make sure all look ok (sealed wrappers and such).

We carved our pumpkins on Sunday and made roasted pumpkins seeds. Yesterday we made candy corn sugar cookie bars. Today the girls went to school in their costumes and then the school put on a costume parade for the parents. Each class performed a Halloween dance that they've been working on in their gym class for the past month. (They learn the names of the bones and stuff too while they're doing their dances -- Monster Mash, Ghost Busters, etc. It's a fun way to incorporate learning!) Tonight the hubs and I will take them Trick or Treating. We live in the best neighborhood in town (i.e. safest, wealthiest ---> best candy etc) so we just have to step outside our door.

Before I got married I would either host or go to Halloween parties thrown by friends... I LOVE Halloween and I LOVE dressing up. Then, I got married... so, then we would stay in and pass out candy to trick or treaters, I LOVE scary movie marathons, but husband is a big scaredy cat! This year, we had a baby! He is only a month old and aint nobody got time for any of that right now!! I did manage to dress him up in a onesie and he helped me pass out candy... maybe next year we'll venture out trick or treating?
