Default What Should We Do?

DH and I decided to go celebrate our anniversary after all...we don't have a lot of money but we can afford to go on a "date". His parents are taking the kids for the night because we were thinking of going to a movie and wouldn't be home until late.

Here's the dilemma...there's NOTHING good playing at the theaters - no good new movies (all the good ones come out NEXT week), and nothing good in the cheap theaters either. We could go to the IMAX and see The Alps, which could be cool (literally, lol), but it only plays at 8pm, not really giving us time to go out for dinner. We thought about maybe a hockey game, but there isn't one tonight, lol. Neither of the dinner theaters have anything good "playing".

Seriously we used to be so much fun before we got married - now we can't even think of anything to do when we have a date night!

What do you and your hubby do on your date nights?! I need all the help I can get...

If your parents are keeping the kids all night, maybe just stay home, order in some fab food and rent a really good movie. I love nights when the kids are gone and DH and I can just enjoy the peace & quiet here at home...maybe have some wine and get a little wilder than we usually do, if ya know what I mean.

Yepp - enjoy the peace and quiet of being at home. but don't tell them you are there!!!!

But I also think you guys need to get out - how about a nice dinner somewhere followed by a movie rental or two?

If there wasn't a movie to go see in the theater, I think I'd just rent a movie or two and order in some take-out and have a movie night.

Hubby and I had a date last week and it was hysterical.

We went out to dinner and sat in silence. We didn't even know what to talk about!!!! LOL

do you have one of those restaurants by you that does trivia nights? DH and I have done those before and its so fun! Or we'll go play Bingo with all the really old folks (now that Colorado is smoke-free we can breathe easy). What about doing some x-mas shopping? DH and I love to just mill around stores w/o the kids talking and getting some shopping done.

P.S. We used to be more fun before kids too. I think its just the nature of the beast. lol

If we get a chance to go out (which seems to be only 2-3 times a year at this point), we love to do dinner and a movie. If there's nothing you want to see, then I'd say still go out to dinner and either bring a movie home.

LMAO...yeah, can't see that one happening.

Thanks for the suggestions ladies...I'll see what DH says. I think maybe we'll go 10-pin bowling (we were going to take the kids bowling but he doesn't want to do 10-pin because the balls are too heavy for them) and I have a GC for Starbucks, so we could maybe hang out at Chapters for a bit. Dunno, lol.

Bowling and a bookstore/coffee sound good! We never get the house to ourselves, so the rare date nights we get mean dinner and a movie or the bookstore and Starbucks. I vaguely remember a time when we were childless and more fun...

Happy anniversary!
