Default No more plumbing problems!!

they fixed it!! we called a local sewer service, and they found a clog in our toilet, so now our toilet flushes like a dream, lol. they at first couldnt figure out why the tub/washer/dishwasher wasn't draining and coming up into the tub. but they looked around outside and found that they don't drain into the septic; they all drain into a long pipe that goes outside behind our house. which is good the guy said cause we don't have a very big septic tank so that prevents it from filling up. that pipe was clogged too. so its all fixed and only cost us $130. the guy was really nice and said he didnt want to do anything that wasn't necessary; he knows times are hard for some people so he was trying to save us $$. he also is they guy that has this awesome, huge outdoor christmas light display just down the road from us. he says to bring the kids and he even passes out toys from his garage, lol. he was an old guy with whitish hair, so if had a beard he would look like santa! what a sweet guy he is. i'm definitley taking the kids there, probably friday night.

yay! i can do laundry! and wash dishes! lol

That is great!! It is nice to hear that good people still exist. I am always afraid to call for any repairs...most are not that honest.

I'm so glad to head it's been taken care of!

Speaking of repairs and people who aren't that honest... our dishwasher refused to work and the repair guy came out and told us it was because we weren't using the correct BRAND of dishwasher detergent. I won't even repeat my response as it was about 90% profanity.

haha! are you serious?? what a moron! i have a Bosch dishwasher (its seriously my favorite appliance ) and it recommends to use Electrosol tabs. which i do, but i don't think it would not work just because i decide to use something else. that shouldn't matter!

Glad that you got it figured out!!

As for the detergent thing, lmao...your dishwasher will work the same no matter what detergent you use...it's how the detergent works with your water that effects how clean your dishes get. We used a certain brand with this dishwasher when we lived in a big city, when we moved to a different town it didn't work as good, and we had to switch brands. Then when we moved again, we had to switch again because the one we used before didn't work. My SIL has the exact same dishwasher as us and can't use the brand we do.

That's good that you got it figured out and it didn't cost you an arm and a leg.

I agree with Bree on the dishwasher detergent! I absolutely CANNOT use the gel stuff... it leaves residue behind on everything! For a long time I thought my dishwasher was broken and I was SO mad because we hadn't had it very long. Then I switched from Cascade gel to Cascade powder, and VOILA! Clean, sparkly dishes... no food crusted on, no film on plastic or glass!

I hovered over the thread title and read that as "... they found a dog in our toilet"

Oy.

What a relief that it's fixed and wasn't a HUGE expense! $130 is still $130, but it sounds like it wasn't spent needlessly ... so yay!

Great news!
