Default Shipping costs..

can be OUTRAGEOUS!

We went to order something for my son for his nintendo switch. Just a small box and it was going to be $123 to ship it to our house here in canada! (the thing we ordered was half that amount) We live a short enough distance to the us/canadian border that we had it shipped to an outlet at the border instead... for $5.

This means we can also pick up chex mix while there LOL!

I hear ya. Shipping costs here went up as soon as Covid hit, and they haven't gone back down. Since we don't share a border with anyone, you can imagine how pricey everything gets, both to import, export, or just mail. My mum priced how much it would cost to post 4 blocks of chocolate to the US (worth $20), and it was over $50. In the end she found someone flying to the US to take it for her.

That's nuts! Just an FYI- but we will be in Sparwood on December 16th for hockey- so you can ship to my house & then I can deliver!

Wow, that's a lot! I'm spoiled and want free shipping or at least the option to spend enough for free shipping. It annoys me to spend $10 for shipping on a $15 item, never mind a truly high amount.

oh man, I agree!! My daughter's wishlist were two plushies from a game or show she's watching, and since it's BF, each has a discount of $4.40 so it's just 25.49 + tax. But the shipping fee is $20!! And it's just here in the US, so I don't understand why the standard SF is $20. Unbelievable.

I 100% agree. And nothing makes me angrier than having to pay shipping and then they use the one shipping service I think is awful and I don't know when my package is arriving. We were just talking today about the different options and how Amazon has really developed an awesome system in a short amount of time. I never have any doubt when my purchases are arriving.

There are times when I will forego purchasing something because of the shipping costs, epecially on Etsy and Ebay. I am not paying more for shipping than the actual item, ever.

On Esty, if the store doesn't have free shipping after a certain level, I won't buy from them. Same with Ebay. And Amazon. I have prime, which costs, so if something is coming from a different seller and has shipping attached, I look for a seller who ships through Amazon or do without. And even though I like stuff, I can always do without. LOL

My dad asked me to buy a pair of shoes he wanted because they would not ship to Canada. $45 US dollars to ship and two weeks later they have yet to arrive.

Canada Post is terrible. We only get mail twice a week, because they only sort mail on Mondays and Thursdays in our town. So on Tuesdays and Fridays we get mail, the other days only if it's something that got mis-sorted the other 2 days.

That's crazy Kristin!

I hate paying for shipping, but since we live in the boonies, often times end up having to do so just to get whatever it is we need or want.

We have A-zon Prime, and like Lorrie, if there isn't free shipping, I'm looking at a different seller.

Amie - I'm hoping to be brave enough to come see you!! <3

Trina - Darcy went yesterday. It's so funny, he didn't actually get bugles (or chex mix because in the end I knew it would hurt my stomach) but the guy at the grocery store was saying all the canadians are getting bugles when they go down. I guess you never really miss something until it's gone.
