Default The Hunger Games

Okay, so I have seen a bunch of people recommend this book, but why did no one tell me it's pages were laced with crack?! Holy smokes, I just started reading on Saturday and I'm already halfway through book 2! My poor son is feeling neglected as I can't seem to put these books down! (I promise, he's NOT neglected...much! )

Anyway, thanks all for the recommendation...someday I might see the light of day again once I finish these books! SO GOOD!

yeah they were fast reads here too..my oldest had to read the first one for required reading and she enjoyed it so we ended up reading the series.

Huge Hunger Games fan here, too! I have been recommending it to lots of people. One of the guys at work just started and he said he had some trouble with the idea of the book, but is really starting to get into it now. I cannot wait for the reported movie next year.

Loved these books!! My 8 year old wanted to read them after me but I feel that they were a little above his reading level so we are reading them together. I don't mind reading them a second time.

lol, I just started reading them a little over a week ago too ... I'm about 25% through the 3rd one in the series. I only read at night before I go to bed.

I just INHALED those books in three days. 0 productivity for me during that time :P

I hear a fan favorite to play Katniss is Hailey Steinfeld (of True Grit).

Hmmm . . . not sure how I've missed hearing about these until now. I think I may have to figure a way to carve out some reading time!

Oh I think she'd be great! Tho movies always suck in comparrison to the book :-(

I only read these books cos of all the fab reviews. It's not my normal reading choice at all but I really enjoyed them, and so true about them being addictive! There's just always something going on, so hard to put them down!

I made the mistake of reading book 1 before book 2 was out...it was a long wait for books 2 and 3! I Loved books 1 and 2, but not 3. I won't give anything away, but the direction Suzanne Collins took certain things in book 3 ruined the entire trilogy for me. (and no, it wasn't related to the love triangle) I may need to reread all 3 one day to see if I can accept it better when my expectations for it aren't as high.

i didn't love 3 either. I probably won't ever read them again because of it! but that's okay, the others were still fun to read! and it was okay to read too, just, not like the others!

Book 3 is definitely the weak link.

I'm going to have to check these out. DH has been looking for a new series of books to read and this might fit the bill.

For real. Loved them. Although I do agree about book 3. It was my least favorite.

I LOVE "The hunger Games"! We don't have book 2 ans 3 in Portuguese yet If I only could read an entire book in English... *sigh*

I've read them (read them after book 2 was out, so I had to wait for book 3). My 14 year old daughter suggested I read the first one, and now my 16 year old son is reading them. It's a family love affair with the books.

I read them within 5 days, once I started the first one I was hooked!

I loved them even though I didn't enjoy the 3rd book as much as the other 2, they were all still fab!

Ooh I love the Hinger Games too! My husband even read/listened to them! I read the first book right before the second one came out so I don't have to wait too long, but the 3rd book seemed to take forever to come out. It turned out to be my least favorite of the 3 as well. I can't wait for the movie, but like others have mentioned I'm sure it will be a let down as most books to movies are (ie. Twilight). Heres to hoping they must have a bigger budget

LOL. Good luck with that. My willpower wouldn't be strong enough. That's why I love audiobooks--you can scrap/clean/cook/drive AND read.

ahhhhh stupid books!! I was sure that I would be ok with stopping after catching fire and taking my break to work but you know idiot me forgot about the fact that of course there would be a cliffhanger.. :/

Still not reading the last book (which i'm gearing up as a dissapointment anyways from what i've read here) till i get my kit done.. sigh.

I wasn't disappointed with the last book but felt like there was enough there to make a 4th book. KWIM?

The last book wasn't my favorite, but I thought it was as compelling as the others. And I was happy with how the "love triangle" was resolved. I feel a void in my life now that I'm done with the series. :P

I actually had this similar random thought--like I'm sure the author could've thought up an extra twist or so to extend the books. I wasn't terribly disappointed with the third book, but the first book is my favorite

They are such good books! I've read several books since reading them and I still can't stop thinking about them!

I wish she would have done a 4th. Book 3 would have worked better if it wasn't the last.
