Default HELP!!!!!!

I am going to throw my computer out the window!!!!!!!!

Something is wrong with my CS3, I can use it fine, until I try to use the "text" tool... it freezes up, and MY WHOLE COMPUTER freaks out...

I end up having to shut it down, by holding down the pwr key...

Then, everything is fine again, until i open it back up and try to use the text tool...... AARRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, I am guessing I have too many fonts???? How will I know what ones to delete? Since I cant open it up to preview them???

Please help ladies!! Anyone had this happen?????

It may not be too many, I have thousands probably, I have never checked how many, and I don't have any problems. It's possible you just have a funky/corrupted one. Have you put any new ones in lately?

it might just be that one font that's loaded. Can you open PS and see which font is on there and remove it before you hit the text tool? I keep my character box thing open so i can see mine...not sure if you can or not (I use CS2)

Do you have a Font Manager, like Font Thing? That way you can look at all your installed fonts and figure out which ones to delete.

If you don't have something like that, then you'll need to go to Windows Explorer-->Windows-->Fonts and start deleting fonts from that folder.

Let me know if you need more help!

Before you go deleting, make sure you know which ones you have to keep, to have Windows and other programs running smoothly. There are certain fonts that are Windows fonts, that you should keep.

I don't know if this helps or not, but if i double click on a font in my winows>fonts folder, it opens up a preview so I can see what the font looks like-that might work for you if you do want to delete some.

Well...I guess I should've said that you want to save the fonts in another directory BEFORE deleting them, just in case.

sometimes my fingers can't keep up with my brain
