I voted! The place where we were voting wasn't extremely busy. There was a bunch of people lined up after us.

I voted for Obama. Proud to say it too.

the kids and I went this morning. I voted to reflect my values. I do have peace that God has the situation under control. Whoever ends up with the position will have been put their by God for a reason. As a Christian I can not put my hope/faith in the hands of a president.

I'm so excited to vote this afternoon. We'll go, with bugga in tow, when DH comes home.

No matter what happens, I'm very proud of our country. This is an historic election.

We voted about 2 hours ago and then went to a late breakfast. I've voted for president since I was 18, in 1972 and have never missed one. I think I'm more cynical and less stressed now as I was when I was younger. I've learned to not buy into all the negative crap that's put out there, that's meant to divert you from the real issues, So I just vote my conscience and hope for the best. What will be will be, ya know?
We live in a tiny rural area, where usually a big turnout is 150 voters, and they had that in the first hour! This election is huge.

Lovin' this thread!! Love to hear how the country is doing as far as what your polls look like and how you are experiencing the day.....I was a bit concerned because I had a medical test this morning, and also had to get to work, but everything turned out wonderfully. got my test done and it was earlier then I expected so went straight to vote! No one was in line.....the poll workers said the big crowd died down about 15 minutes before I got there. I acutally made it to work early!!!

I voted really early this morning. I live in a small town so I was in and out in a flash, no waiting, no lines. There were a couple people going in as I was coming out. I hope we get a great turnout today. Kudos to everyone willing to wait in long lines to cast your vote!

I was in and out in about 2 minutes. Turns out DH was wrong about the amendments, they were from LAST election.

Nader was on my ballot. I didn't think he'd made it onto it in Virginia, yet there he was. Which means I could have voted for Nader for the 4th time in a row had I been inclined.

I voted first thing this morning! Virtually no line but DH said when he drove by our polling place after he dropped DS off at school the line was starting to get pretty long.

I am also really nervous about the outcome. Unfortunately I don't think that America will come together after this election is over though. I really wish it would happen but I just can't see the glass half-full on this one...

ETA: Also, really, what are people thinking when they steal signs from people's properties? Do they REALLY think that stealing a sign will change our vote? STUPID, STUPID PEOPLE!

I voted around 9:30 and there was no wait, although there were a lot of people coming and going. I think that both Obama and McCain are good men, so I won't be crushed either way though I am strongly in support of Obama.

I'm just happy to see Bush GONE.

I voted absentee too. I miss being able to go to an actual polling place, it's just not the same. And sorry to all the conservatives here but I voted for Obama and NO on Prop 8. I'm not ashamed either.

Ours does the same, Jennifer. My dad and I voted for Obama and my mom and brother voted McCain. It's a wash. LOL KS will go to McCain anyway.

WOOT for no on prop H8e!

While we're at it, lets make sure the races can't intermarry anymore either!

*sigh* I'm a Christian and I still think prop 8's not right.

We took the kids and went to the local elementary school to vote today. I wore Phin, so he was pretty interested in the ballot, lol.

The biggest thing I'm worried about besides my presidential choice is Prop 8 here. I've been nearly losing sleep over it.

Anyway... here's Phin, wearing my "I Voted" sticker outside the polling place:

i don't really think the nation is that divided. I think the parties are divided and becoming more polarized and since we only have a choice of two we have to pick one, which makes us look divided.

but if you actually look at the details, most people do not agree 100% with everything thier party promotes, just enough of it to make that party more attractive than the other one.

Exactly. There are just too many legal ramifications that go along with Prop 8. I voted and I'm proud of myself!
