Default Bras for big "girls"

Okay...I know we have talked about this a few times but, I wanted to bring it up again to see if maybe there were any new good suggestions. Now that I have lost weight the "girls" have changed a bit and I seriously, desperately need a bra that fits. I have sewn this current bra, safety pinned it and it is pathetic. I have no bra that truly fits. I don't even know what size I wear. I know I am a 34. And the cup size is at least an E. So...suggestions? Where do you well endowed girls get your bras?

I would tell you to go to a store and get fitted. I know you are supposed to measure under the breast for the size and then across the widest part of your chest to get your cup size. Subtract the bottom number from the top and that is your cup size. I do not have the issue you have but still have problems with bras because my size is pretty common. I know I am a 36C and the stores always seem to be out of my size. I went to Victoria Secrets Outlet and they did not have any 36C's I could find LOL.

Cacique bras at Lane Bryant, Balconette style. I'm a 38 DD and I LOVE these bras and don't wear anything else.

NeeNee, have you tried Victoria's Secret online? They go up to DDD now in some of their styles so it could be worth a shot. I'm not sure about E's as all of the stores I shop at for my big girls only go to DDD.

Lane Bryant is another you may want to look into - they do 36DDD as their smallest though.

Good luck!

Women's Health Boutique. I shopped there in Houston, and now here in OKC. They have several other locations in TX as well. They have bras from 32C to 44M; they also deal with a lot of post-op patients, and sell wigs as well. They will have a specialist fit you with the right size...it makes a huge difference.

I'm a 30J and have to usually buy 34J and have them altered... tho I've heard that some bra companies are catering to us big chested tiny girls... I'm away from my desk but I'll link to some places I've bought from in the past... but I have a local store near me that specializes in bra fittings and larger sizes so I usually go there

You should go to Nordstrom and get measured - the bras are spendy so you don't have to buy there. I usually buy one bra at Nordstrom and then go home and buy the same one online at Fresh Pair with a coupon or when they are having a sale.

I have the same problem w/finding bras to fit my girls and can relate to your altering frustrations! My normal size is a 32DDD and it's nearly impossible to find one that fits right. I had bookmarked this SITE a while back, but haven't actually bought anything because I"m waiting for the boobies to return to normal after nursing (had a baby in April)

I buy mine at Woman Within or Roaman's. But, since losing 170 lbs, my girls went from a D cup to a B cup and are sagging down to my waist! LOL

neenee, go get fitted at a store first. JCPenney does it, Nordstrom does it, Victoria Secret does it... and possibly Macys.

Ok. Is this why we are all wearing the wrong size? (80% or whatever the statistic is)

How To Measure

Did you know to measure ABOVE?

In Austin there is a place called Petticoat Fair and they are AWESOME! I've gotten some great bras from there. In fact, I need to go back and get a couple of new ones.

I would say the same about getting fitted at a store first. I went to JCPenney. My favorite bra - cause I am pretty picky and HATE wearing them and have issues with wire and all of that- are the no wire, cotton bras from Cacique(Lane Bryant). They give good support and are comfortable. I actually go through the day without complaining.

i totally agree. I just ordered two more from them. I'm a 36DD (I've been a 36DDD when I was a bit heavier) and I refuse to ever wear anything else. These last forever....they hold my girls up, give me a good shape, and are comfy. No neck, shoulder or back pain.

They are almost always on sale for buy one get one half off...and they have coupons.

The balconette's are my choice too.

I've had all the expensive ones too from Nordstrom. Believe me...they aren't as nice and don't last as long!
