Default what was your wedding song?

So because my mind can't stay on what its supposed to be just another one of my random questions. What was your wedding song? why?

We had "when you say nothing at all" by ronan keating. no real meaning behind it was just something that fit us with the lyrics.

at last- by Etta James

I love Big Band music from the 40's... and my father-in-law has a Big Band/polka band and they played for the reception... I have always loved this song when it was played in the movies. And since our couple song is Always and Forever by Shania... but that really isn't the band's style. LOL!

I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) by the Proclaimers

and that was chosen by our friends at the reception because we hadn't actually chosen a wedding song. It wasn't a traditional wedding & we were more interested in making sure about the food & open bar than the dancing & entertainment.

I love both At Last and a Kiss to Build a Dream On. Great songs!

Ours was an off-beat kinda pick, but a song I've loved since my parents played it in the car when I was little:

Could I Have This Dance for the Rest of My Life? by Anne Murray.

The Hawaiian Wedding Song - English lyrics are below, but it was sung in Hawaiian with a traditional Hawaiian hula and ukulele as accompaniment. We were married in a Traditional Hawaiian ceremony on the beach in Makena and incorporated lots of cultural Hawaiian tradition in the ceremony.

Hawaiian Wedding Song/Ke Kali Nau - English lyrics by Al Hoffman and Dick Manning, 1958.

This is the moment
I've waited for.
I can hear my heart singing.
Soon bells will be ringing.
This is the moment
Of sweet Aloha.
I will love you longer than forever.
Promise me that you will leave me never.
Here and now, dear,
All my love I vow dear.
Promise me that you will leave me never.
I will love you longer than forever.
Now that we are one,
Clouds won't hide the sun.
Blue skies of Hawaii smile
On this, our wedding day.
I do love you
With all my heart.

Sadly, we didn't have music at our reception. Long story. But if we would have, it would have been "Forever" by Kiss. Jeff picked it as our song when we first started dating. Not your typical wedding song. LOL

We didn't have a dance/music at our reception. Wait- we had someone playing a piano.

Our recessional at the wedding was "From This Moment" sung by my good friend. Our entrance song to the reception was the War Hymn (college fight song). We got married in the chapel on campus and the reception was on campus in a ballroom that overlooked the university.

If we had a first dance it probably would have been to "Oh What A Thrill" by The Mavericks. Maybe "Me and You" by Kenny Chesney.

Breathe by Faith Hill. My DH loves country music (I love Garth Brooks-LOL!) and we just love her voice. This song had just been released so it was a perfect wedding song!

Hmm...we didn't have a song, per se. DH's sister played the harp at our reception, and I didn't want to do all of the cheesy cut the cake, first dance, throw the bouquet stuff, I mostly wanted to be married to my best friend. And it seems like we've always got a new "song". On our wedding day we were both singing "Til There Was You" from the Music Man (although DH was singing the Beatles version), so it's unofficially our wedding song.

Me too! I told DH that I wanted him to choose our wedding song. (I know...call it temporary insanity) He said he was listening to the radio at work and heard the words and they were us, totally us. I had never heard it before and it made me bawl....

Songs sung at the wedding ... all sung by the same guy we knew ... wow he had a beautiful voice ... wish we had a recording of it.

Always and Forever (Lionel Richie)

IF

Evergreen (I liked the Barbra Streisand version but since she wasn't available...had a guy we knew with a beautiful voice sing)

People (same as above)

....dh doesn't dance and I was paying for my own wedding ... so we didn't have any dancing ... it ended up being a semi short reception because dh booked our airline reservations earlier than I thought he would.

L-O-V-E by Nat King Cole. We had taken swing dance lessons while engaged and wanted to swing dance for our first dance. It was so fun and everyone loved it. It's on our dvd, I wish I could pull it off.

The only music that sticks out from our wedding is Pachelbel's Canon in D, which was the processional music...it's my favorite piece of classical music.

We didn't have a 'wedding song' per se...neither DH or I dance, so we didn't see any point in hiring someone to do music. We just had some CDs playing in the background, and with all the chattering at the reception, you couldn't even hear that.

Groovy Kind of Love by Phil Collins. DH suggested it, and when I couldn't find something better that we both liked we stuck with it. Admitedly, I didn't try that hard. I was still into '80's music when we got married in '98, and DH has always been into classic rock. Not a lot of overlap in our music, so I was happy to have even 1 option we both liked.

*swoon* my hubby's unofficial "uncle" who plays soprano saxophone asked if he could to play this during our ceremony... truly breathtaking!

ETA... It was a compromise because we had asked him to sing There is Love... (which he was sick of singing... LOL! You have to listen to the words to this song, it still gives me chills.
