Default Instagram changes

Take a look at the proposed changes! I will wait to delete my account, hoping they come to their senses.

Wow. That is crazy. I'm glad I don't use it, though I was really looking forward to using it once I get my iphone after Christmas.

Does Facebook currently have this same policy? I didn't realilze FB owned Instagram. My iphone camera only takes crazy blurry pictures for some unexplainable reason so I haven't used Instagram.

There's also Hipstamatic which takes small, square vintage photos. It puts them in the iPhone camera roll and from there you can decide to share them. the only thing is that with Hipstamatic you set the filter first and then take the photo.

Or you can use the iPhone camera app (or Camera + or any other camera app) and then use Photo Toaster or Snapseed to crop, filter, and frame your photo in any way you would like. This way you have the original photo and can try different effects. There are a LOT of alternatives to the iPhone camera app!

FB doesn't have the same policy YET if I'm not mistaken. This is from their TOU:
About Advertisements and Other Commercial Content Served or Enhanced by Facebook

Our goal is to deliver ads and commercial content that are valuable to our users and advertisers. In order to help us do that, you agree to the following:

1. You can use your privacy settings to limit how your name and profile picture may be associated with commercial, sponsored, or related content (such as a brand you like) served or enhanced by us. You give us permission to use your name and profile picture in connection with that content, subject to the limits you place.

2. We do not give your content or information to advertisers without your consent.

3. You understand that we may not always identify paid services and communications as such.
And this is where you can adjust your settings:

That said, I'm not a fan of FB. I'm only there because people I interact with are there. They have a weird policy IMHO.

Wow. And I've really enjoyed using Instagram I wonder if a work around would be to keep the phone on airplane mode - the pics wouldnt end up on my feed but I would still have them on my camera - and then I could choose how to share them. Kind of a hassle but I don't know. Bummer though.

An update/explanation.
It's basically the same thing as facebook's sponsored posts.

Facebook bought Instagram for a Billion dollars last summer. I was wondering when they would start making changes.
