That would be a super fun family craft

I think I need to wait to make these though. I have tissue paper and pin trees to make from last year. And maybe a button tree too, I haven't decided. But this won't stop me from buying the stuff for them, lol!

Yay!! I'm not sure if Joann's has the small pots, but I know that Michael's and ACMoore too.
I know Joann's has dowels for the tree trunk, felt, buttons, ribbons, paint for the pots, etc. Just not sure on the small pots.

I actually do that, so yes, I promise.

Seriously, I stroke an imaginary ZZTop beard when I'm thinking.... I think I've gotten an imaginary trim though because it used to be as far as my arm could reach and now it's just a couple inches. Stupid imaginary wild-west barber with the curly mustache. How jealous I am of his curly little tendrils... and that spirally thing outside his shop...

Love, if you can sew a button, you can make these trees. Just glue the felt together instead of sewing it

Side note! If you have ugly buttons, just use some acrylic paint and glitter on them. No need to buy buttons for this! The kids will LOVE that!

I have two big bags of autumn leaves buttons I've never touched. this would be PERFECT. Is there anything more online about how to make them, or any tips? Or do I actually have to purchase the mag for $18.99?
I'm soooo spoiled by digi tutorials!! hahah...
Seriously, I wanna make these. Is it just a dowling stuck up two pieces of felt? How is the dowling secured in the buckets? I'm really that dumb. *LOL*

I'd just shove it in a piece of that green foamy junk for flowers (WTH is it called, girls??)... maybe put some glue in the hole, then put the dowel back in, since my kids are destructive. Then glue some of that moss crap on top to hide the foamy thing.

WOOT!! I am SO craft-lingo savvy LMAOOOOO

I knew what you meant Annie

You could also use marbles or rocks to hold it in place.

The dowel doesn't need to be that long, just long enough to stick out of hte pot, and a little ways into the felt tree. The following is how I would do it:
paint pots
cut 2 triangles out of desired felt color
sew or glue on buttons and bows
place felt together, outsides facing in, sew together (or if gluing, then just glue together, right sides out)
after sewing, turn insides out, so right sides are outside
stuff with batting or whatever you have on hand (if you use glue, let the glue dry completely)
shove stick into tree
stick into pot
done
