Default I've Organized!!

Phewwww!! I spent all day yesterday organizing ALL of my digi-scrapping files!! What a job!

All of my pretty papers are in one file, all different sorts of elements in other files....it all looks so pretty!

And I must say, that when I open my paper file, you can sure tell which ones come from SSD (and I don't even have to look at the file name)! They're all soooooo nice and really stand out from the others!

Now I'm good to start scrappin'...again!

Oh man, can you come and do mine???? LOL. I so need to get my butt in gear and do the same. I spend more time looking for stuff when making a LO than anything else.

I am the same way. I do however have all my SSD stuff in one file so that helps. I have NO idea how to even start organizing my stuff. I have files for certain designers or shops but the rest just gets lost in the shuffle...Especially all the freebies I have - It stinks because I forget all about them!!!!!

Ugh, I haven't even gotten to my SSD stuff yet to organize! Lol! I tagged a few folders earlier this week, but I'm too scared to start the SSD one without having HOURS to sit down and just do it all, lol.

I DID advance my scrapping to organizing SSD by designer instead of just all the kits dumped in one place, lol. And I'm having SUCH a hard time getting used to it! Lol!

CONGRATS on being organized! You are probably the envy of everyone here! Lol!

Question for you ladies that have everything in one place (i.e. a folder for all papers)... How do you know what kit it came from, for when you go to do page credits.

This is one thing I'm struggling with because most designers label each item with the kit name, but not all of them.

That's why I can't organize like that within my regular folders. Thank goodness for ACDSee, lol.

I just unzip them and leave the title the way it is, after the unzipping is done I can chose which folder to put it.

congrats!!
I want to get another EHD and split my stuff up. I organize now by designer and it works since I don't reuse kits often. I do however use elements and bits and pieces from other kits here and there. I leave all my kits intact then I have a ribbons folder, charms, alpha, etc and duplicate my favorites into those folders. That will only work though if you have a lot of room on your hard drive or an EHD or something

I just left the file name as-is, most designers have their names attached to the file and if not, I added it. I will probably forget where "some" of them sell their designs, but if I do, I'll just ask!

i have one huge file labeled Scrapbooking.i have all of SSD in one folder in there and all the freebies i find (which are ALOT) are all in their separate folders there. i unzip them as they are, keeping the names and all the files as is. i write down on a tablet each item i use and where its from/who made it as i'm scrapping a page.

what if you just made a shortcut instead of copying the file over?

Congrats, Leah, that's quite an accomplishment and makes scrapping much easier.

I'm a big fan of ACDSee for organizing.
