Well, the book (series) was terrible...so I hope it's better. LOL

the first book was better than the other two. the first one was actually good and then it all went downhill from there. I've heard it's pretty close to the book, but htey changed some things and my friend that watched it said she liked it overall, but was disappointed.

I have the book on my Kindle and still haven't read it...is it worth my time if I'm not going to like the other two books (which seems to be the general consensus)? I'm one of those readers that has to finish a series.

I haven't read the books but we've been talking about seeing the movie. Hopefully I like it better than I liked The Hunger Games.

I didn't love any of the books, I thought the whole series was boring. None of the characters were likable and they cycle through characters so fast that you don't even remember who they were when they die or whatever.

I loved Divergent, was a little more meh on the Insurgent and Allegiant. I'll probably see the movie when it comes out on DVD.

I was really excited when I heard about the movie... but I'm not sure if I will actually like it. The more I see of it in the previews, the more I think that they changed a lot of it.

I trudged through Insurgent. I couldn't make it more than two chapters into Allegiant. I don't really think I care at this point. :/

I didn't like the first book because I couldn't get past the whiny teenager. It probably had a lot to do with the girl reading it (audiobook), but I didn't like it at all, and never read the rest. We saw the movie tonight, and I thought it was ... okay. No whiny, which was good. There was a lot I didn't like about how they handled some things, but otherwise it was okay.

I have to admit that part of why I don't want to pay $$$ to go see it is because I just don't like what's-her-face who plays Tris. I loved (at first, lol) The Secret Life of the American Teenager, but by like the 3rd-ish season I hated her and wanted everyone to leave her. She's just so meh.

I went to see it tonight. I don't see movies very often, so I was just happy to have a date night, lol. I thought it was pretty close to the book, but not identical. It was fine. Maybe 2.5 (out of 5) stars.

Exactly what I thought when I saw her in the preview! lol!

I haven't read the books...tried too... but just could not get into them. I will just wait for it to come on one of the movie channels.

I wanted to see it really bad last night, but the hubby worked late and the theater is an hour away. We have plans/more work for today and tomorrow and then are traveling next week, so I guess I will see it on Netflix!

I liked the first one a lot, the second one a little, and the third one wanted to make me throw my iPad! lol.

LOL Marla! Cheyanne read the whole series in like a week. She liked the 1st book, loved the 2nd, and she said the 3rd was good but made her mad I haven't read them because they're not my "thing" but she loves those types of stories.

I liked all the books, even Allegiant, and really enjoyed the movie. I have never seen any of the actors in anything before, so I went in with no expectations. I thought they really fit their characters and the changes they made from the book to the movie fit well. I recommended it to friends.

I liked all if the books...especially Allegiant, but I'm finding I'm in the minority. I loved how much it made me think, and I loved that the author didn't wimp out at the end.

I was experiencing a friend reading them this week through Facebook, and she kept hating on them, especially Allegiant, but then she loved the movie and started recommending the series. Lol!

I actually appreciated the way it ended, I just thought the series was pretty pedestrian in itself.

I agree with Traci on the books. They were meh, but I appreciated the ending that most hated. As for the movie, I just got back. It follows the book well. A few minor changes, nothing that made me like wtf. Though as per usual with the including of most of the book, you lose a lot of the character/relationship development that you have in the books..

I'm with you Meg.... I loved the books (except for the last one) and I thought the movie was pretty good! I've seen a lot worse book to movie versions, and this one wasn't bad.
