Default 30 Days of Thanks - November 4th

Today I am thankful for sleep. As someone who suffers with insomnia, I sleep on an average of four hours a day. This week has been tough because I haven't even been getting the four hours for various reasons, mostly that my mind will not shut down. But last night, I fell asleep easily and slept for 6 hours. As a result, I woke up this morning feeling like a whole new person. It's totally amazing how much better everything looks after a good night's sleep.

Today I am thankful for a working vehicle that allows me to run the errands I need .... because even though I'm lazy right now and don't want to do them, there was a time when I had no car. So for that I am grateful

I'm thankful for a wonderful employee of the baby shop I want to order all my baby stuff.
The collection of bed linen I chose for my baby is the end of collection. I could order them on Monday, but when I looked at the webshop yesterday, the items I wanted I couldn't order any more. I made a lot of calls and a few very kind and helpful shop assistents made it possible to still get the items I wanted. They've put it aside so I can come and pick it up on Saturday.
I had my heart set on that collection of bed linen, it would be a total bummer if I was too late and everything was sold out.

I've been so busy I missed the other threads...

So today, I am so thankful for a good night's rest (slept from 10 to 6 this morning without waking up once!) the ability to walk, and a neighborhood that is safe to walk in (did my 2 miles today already!), and the opportunity to meet a friend for lunch today!!

I'm so sorry you deal with insomnia. As a fellow-insomniac, I totally understand your frustration and your small victory of sleeping well for an "extended" amount of time!!

Today I am grateful for 2 very dear friends that I keep in touch with on a regular basis (unfortunately, not in person these days). These two ladies and I went through school together so we have been friends for a very long time (let's just say longer than 50 years!). We share our successes and victories with one another, we share our needs and prayer requests and of course, share about our families with each other. They are so very special to me.

I am thankful for a heated blanket that I can hide under and get warm as well as heated seats in my van. It is COLD in Texas...those of you in the North come get your weather...it is down here drunk and running around. I need my mid 70/80s back soon! Brrrr!!

Today I'm thankful for new episodes of "Catfish" that popped up on Hulu this week. They've been good company when the kids have been with their dad this week.

I am thankful for pets! I dogsit for a couple friends. The last dog we owned had some behavior issues that turned me off to owning a dog for ourselves. Dogsitting for 3 dogs (and 2 guines pigs) has created a love of dogs again, to the point we are actually looking at adopting a new pup! We have applied for 2, but they both found different homes. God has the perfect dog for us, we just have to be patient and wait!

Today I'm thankful for my kids. They're well mannered, caring, smart, listen (most of the time) rofl.
But ultimately they just encourage me to become better everyday

Today I am thankful for a 70 lb hunk of chocolate. This morning while sitting on the couch she crawled up, laid in my lap with her head on my knee. I needed that this morning, the cold coffee was worth it, that 10 minutes was golden.

I've been suffering from a spinal tap headache since last Saturday, and yesterday (Thursday, my time) I turned a corner. I still have a headache, but I don't have sharp, shooting pains in my neck every time I stand up. I was even able to make breakfast for my kids this morning, which is definitely something I'm thankful for!

Today I'm thankful for a brief break in the clouds just at sunset. The sun bathed everything in this beautiful orange light in the west, and there was a stunning full arc double rainbow across the eastern sky. It was so beautiful and felt like a moment of grace. I took pictures, but of course they're never the same as seeing it in person.
