Printer question

I have a HP Photosmart printer. I have a love hate relationship with it. When it works, the prints are amazing. It's what I use for all my hybrid projects. Well right now I can't get it to print the black ink. I have changed both the photo black and the regular black cartridges even though it still had ink left. I have cleaned the print heads and done all the checks I know how to do. Feeling frustrated right now....UGH!! I have a lot of ink left and will lose quite a bit of money if I can't get it to work.
Anyway....does anyone have any suggestions? If I can't get it to work, I will be in the market for a new printer. What is everyone's favorite printer? TIA

Thanks Sandy.....I think that is what I'm going to have to do. I do use it almost daily! .....so I'm really missing it right now.

My last printer was an HP printer and I loathed it. My hubby bought it for me without consulting me. I will never buy another HP. I had a Canon printer before that and I loved it.

I'm a Canon girl for printers....never had a problem with them

I haven't had a working printer in 4 years. I think I need to look into one again though. I always loved HP in the past, the only Canon I had quite super quick on me, but these were a long time ago.
