I'll have to search later.. I had a party for ce a couple years ago-- it was more jungle /animals than zoo ^_^ but the site I got the info from had tons and tons of animal related ideas. I made him a crocodile cake (really actually easy) and had like.. twisted paper vines.. and all these lil snack things. it was super fun (well for him.. ^_^ there weren't really any kids at the party lmao). I'll have to look later.. lol

If you are looking for a cool cake, this site is awesome
http://www.coolest-birthday-cakes.com/cake-photos.html As for hybrid ideas give us more of an idea what kind of animals you are looking to focus on. Family Fun had a cute farm party idea in their magazine a few years ago.

My son's first birthday was a jungle animal theme. My mom and I did everything for it. Here's a link to the LO I made of it:
Page 1: http://www.digishoptalk.com/gallery/...ll&ppuser=6095 Page 2: http://www.digishoptalk.com/gallery/...ll&ppuser=6095 I did primary colors. We made a cake that was supposed to look like a savannah and put plastic animals all over it. For goody bags, I bought those paper cups that are shaped like animals and stuffed it with stuffed animals and other things I found in the dollar section at Target. It was cute, but it was before I knew anything about hybrid so there wasn't anything like that there. |

Okay - I had to think on this one (I love planning themed parties!!!)
What about Zoo Pal cups and plates for the actual party. Multicolored streamers. Maybe a birthday banner using the kit you use for the invites. You could make popcorn boxes that say "Birthday child's name Zoo" and fill with actual popcorn for a snack. For invites any kit that has some zoo animals you can cut out would work. I was thinking something like this, but with a lion, zebra, giraffe, etc. https://www.sweetshoppecommunity.com...00&ppuser=4492 For favors you could make little animal cookie boxes with the same kit you use for the invites. You could even personalize them with each kid's name and when the kids are done with the cookies inside they can use them as little carry boxes (what kid doesn't love a little box of their own?) http://stampingtoshare.blogspot.com/...lly-beans.html For entertainment you could either make some animal masks and have the kids wear them and play or do some face painting. We have a traveling petting zoo here you can have come to your house (kinda pricey) or just play regular party games or make a zoo animal themed foam craft from Michael's. Another fun thing is to bake animal shaped cookies and have the kids decorate. For the cake, cupcakes that look like different animals would rock. I hope that helps jump start your creativity. Sorry it took me so long to pull all my thoughts together.

Here's a link to a safari themed party...probably not exactly what you're looking for, but I love, love, love the banner, cupcakes and treat bags!!
And, for my son's 3rd birthday, we had a Diego birthday party theme. We used the Zoo Pals plates and cups but my favorite item of the party were skewers I made with marshmallows and animal themed gummies (gummy snakes, gummy sharks, gummy frogs, etc). The kids went CRA-ZAY for them! I also layered fruit in between the gummies and the marshmallows! Hope that helps you some! Good luck and don't forget to come back and show us what all you came up with! |

Those skewers sound fantastic! I've got to find something like that for my DD's Hawaiian Pool party. I'm sure they would be a huge hit with 7-8 year olds!
Great ideas here!

Here's the beginning of a cute little Animal-themed "party kit" I made using Libby & Tracie's new Animal Crackers kit (available Saturday!! and Oh So Cute) and a Party Hat template and Top Heavy Box template by Kelleigh Ratzlaff (digichick):
Looking at it now, I think I'll add a large brown pom-pom to the top of the hat as well as one of the animals cut out from the Animal Crackers kit! |

My son went to a Jungle themed party... But I think this may work for you too...
Green Streamers hanging down in strips on the windows to look like vines (leaves taped to them) And a side bag, written with his name on it filled with little animals/insects/candy. It was super cute.. |
