Good news today!!

Well some good news possibly. But at least it is something. I had a car accident in November 2008. I have had horrible headaches and pain in my neck since then. Nothing really helped and I have done soooo much to try to get relief. I am scheduled on the 15th to have a procedure done that is supposed to block the nerves which are responsible for some of the pain. So I have my fingers crossed for this to work. Maybe I can get my life back to something more like normal.

I was honestly scared the doctor was going to say it needed surgery because that is what my primary care physician was saying and the neurologist who was treating the headaches was thinking as well. So hearing that this might help was really good news. He is not saying that surgery wont be needed ever but he believes the injection would help. I have to say though when he was squeezing and asking does it hurt here when he hit the right spot I felt the pain down my back and all the way to my fingertips. Anyhow he did not have to ask does it hurt there because he could tell by my reaction. Just thinking about the possibility that there wont be so much pain though is awesome. I have tried probably 12 medications at least since the accident to try to releive the pain and headaches. Most would work a little but never really give me complete relief and it was only for an hour or two maybe 3-4 and it would come back.

My cousin (actually the hubby's cousin) just had this done- she had the nerves blocked around her occipital cavity to relieve headaches due to an accident. She's a few days post-op and headache free. Hoping the same for you!

Im also going to have this procedure done in the next month as well. I literally, CANT WAIT!!! I hope yours and mine give us relief! Im ready to get my life back, as Im sure you are too!!!!!

Hope yours goes well too Kristen!! I am so happy. Like literally when he told me he thought he would be able to fix it I was ready to cry!! It was at the point where I thought this pain would just be something I would have to live with for the rest of my life.
