Default Qotd: What's your least favorite chore to do around your house? (01/25)

What's your least favorite chore to do around your house?

I hate mopping the floor. I don't mind dusting, vacuuming or anything else, but please... don't make me mopping the floor!

A few years ago when my husband and I were going through a bit fight, we decided to help each other out by taking on each other's least favorite chore. He now does the dishes every night no questions asked, and I mow the lawn once a week in the summer and as needed throughout the rest of the year. I can't complain about my least favorite anymore since my hubby took it I also pawned scooping dog poop off onto my kids and pay them a quarter each time. They complain about it, but I remind them that they get paid for it, haha

My least favorite is ironing...so when we got married I told him i would do anything and everything except iron. A close second is cooking. Just because they are so picky.

Right now it is dishes because it's a gross chore but also because our dishwasher hasn't been working right and everytime I open it I don't know if I'm going to have clean dishes or dishes that are still dirty. I have had some big temper tantrums over it

Laundry. It's just so tedious and constant. Collecting it, sorting it, washing it, remembering to put it in the dryer, drying it, bringing it upstairs from the laundry room, folding it and hanging it, putting it away.... repeat repeat repeat!!! Ugggh

ALL OF THEM. I'm seriously the least domesticated person ever. Cleaning makes me hostile. I'm waiting for the day (may never come!) when we can finally hire a cleaning person.

Thankfully, Hubby and I both work so we split chores 50/50, but I still don't like doing them, at all.

All of them sounds about right! But if I have to choose, vacuuming. Since carpets don't show the dirt, I see no visible signs that I accomplished something. I may not like laundry and dishes because they're never-ending, but at least with those I see a difference and feel like I got something done. (We finally got rid of the carpet on the first floor of our house last month, so the vacuuming has been cut in half!)

All of them? LOL! If I had to choose one, I would say matching socks after washing them. Silly, but I really don't mind folding clothes, but I completely loathe having to match socks!!

Haha! I did that at one point, but now my boys are both big enough that they all wear the same size, but don't like the same types of socks

Folding the clothes! My mother was a real Martha Stewart in and out, our house was very tidy and kept up and she relaxes by folding our clothes while watching tv. I on the other hand would better iron all our clothes and put them all to a hanger than fold them. Miss my mom so much. I really hope I got that from her.

1st and foremost its dishes, so I do not do them. I refuse. I have three kids, two are adults still living with us and someone else will do them or they won't be using dishes lol.

I also hate laundry but everyone does their own now except for my husband and I. Yet I still can not seem to get a load folded and put away when it is done. It usually sits til its wrinkled. Its awful but true.

We have a screened in carpeted patio area off the back of the house. Once a year I haul everything out except the table which won't fit through the door and clean it. It's filthy, backbreaking work and I hate it. You cut the grass once, and there is a green film over everything again. Granted there are covers on the furniture, but still. And even though it's screened, the bugs get in there somehow and can't get out again. Their carcasses are always all over the carpet. I'd rather scrub toilets--and I used to clean toilets in a nursing home for a living.

Folding/hanging clothes... it never ends. My hubs wears a uniform to work, comes home and changes. My girls were uniforms to school and then change at home.... at least once a night. I wear my "uniform" at home (i.e. comfy pants..lol) and change when I have to go pick up/drop off the kids. There is always laundry to do! It's a struggle to keep it from mounting into piles and I have to force myself to put it away instead just throwing it in the baskets for later. Hubs doesn't help with the laundry much (a little to be fair...like mating socks and folding towels) because he can't tell which clothes belong to which kid since they're so close in size and as we women know, tag sizes are never accurate indicators! :P

Put me on the hate it all list. There are so many things I would rather do than housework. Now that I am an empty nester, there isn't much to do so it is not as bad. I also have someone in once every two weeks to do the heavy stuff. That is my gift to me and I love it.

Yep, all of them haha but vacuuming I hate the most. Probably that's why we mostly use the iRobot roomba but manual vacuuming - no, thanks!!!
I don't mind doing the dishes and the laundry but vacuuming and dusting - blah! I leave those to mu husband. Mopping is OK though

Folding laundry! There is so much of it with two kids and a husband that sucks at folding anything other than socks. But to be honest I’d love to be able to afford a cleaning service. Spend our time on the kids and scrapping rather than tidying, cleaning, laundry, dishes, cooking (well, cleaning up after anyway.

I'm so not domestic. I hate doing dishes, cooking and cleaning out the fridge the most. Laundry is next.
