Default What shows should I watch next?

On Netflix or Amazon Prime?

I just finished Once Upon a Time, pretty much obsessed with it right now! LOL! If you follow me on pinterest, you're probably sick of pictures of Captain Hook.

I started watching The West Wing, I like that so far.

The Hubby & I are watching Dexter and Justified, kind of here and there.

Orange is the New Black? Definitely not safe to watch with kids around, but I loved it so much I'm rewatching it.

Hmmm... the girls and I really like watching Next Great Baker on Netflix. It's just a fun summer thing for us to watch together. (We don't watch Cake Boss or any other food show regularly.)

One year we watched Bones. Another we watched Psych (which is really very good). Breaking Bad was the first part of this summer. Shows we are sometimes rewatching: Lost, The Walking Dead, The Killing, The Following.

I binge watched a couple shows a couple months back when I was injured and unable to do much of anything. They're probably not for husbands, though. Check out Bomb Girls (it's about women working in a WWII bomb factory) and Call The Midwife.
I also really enjoy Sherlock.

Other faves (some that Kim mentioned):

Breaking Bad
Psych
Eureka
The Unit (Amazon)

Arrested Development
Heroes

On my "to watch" list in the near future:

Orange Is The New Black

Orphan Black (Amazon)

I feel like I'm forgetting some...

if you can get past serious nudity and gore, The Game of Thrones is worth it.

Downton Abbey is awesome. It is about the people that live in an English Manor, called Downton Abbey in the early 1910-20's. You get the story from the aristocracy as well as the servants. Similar idea to the old Upstairs Downstairs. It is one of my favorites!

This summer I watched Nashville, followed by Greek and now I am watching 90210. There was another series in there, but I can't remember what. I like to watch the teen stuff almost more than I like shows geared towards adults. Less to think about, lighter viewing, I think (most of the time). I am really looking for a light, fun comedy on Netflix or Hulu but I haven't found one yet. Most shows I've tried I get through half of the pilot and turn it off... like The Office. I have watched some of Orange is the New Black but since I can't watch it when the kids are around and they are ALWAYS around in the summer, I've only seen a few episodes. DH wants me to watch Breaking Bad. I watched part of the first episode a year or so ago and didn't like it, but I might give it another shot.

The IT Crowd (British show)

I added the Killing, I've been wondering about Bomb Girls, I think I'll check that one out too. Gossip Girl I've been debating about too. And Friday Night Lights!

I'll check out some of these others.

Breaking Bad, I just can't get into.

Downton Abbey, I really like.

Love these threads!

We have Netflix and Amazon Prime so these shows are from one or the other.

I'm currently binge watching Royal Pains. The acting is pretty sucky, and the doctor is like a medical MacGyver, so pretty far-fetched. But I like the scenery and all the fancy houses.

2 other shows that come to mind that I have watched and the acting is bad - Suits and Covert Affairs. Sometimes I don't even know why I'm watching this stuff! LOL

I've only watched 2 episodes of Chuck - I guess I'll have to keep going.

Justified - LOVE me some Boyd!! Hate when the season ends each time.
White Collar
Burn Notice
LOVEDLOVEDLOVED The Americans. First show I've actually paid for episodes I missed. Not one for around kids though.
The Good Wife - love that
House of Cards - excellent. Not for kids.
Damages - really liked the first couple of seasons, then I couldn't quite keep up.

I watched the first two, I think, seasons of Once Upon A Time. I loved the first season but got really bored with the second one. I stopped recording it to the dvr long before we let go of our satellite TV. I might try and catch up later by streaming it though.

I will say that with shows like Breaking Bad and OINTB, you really have to watch a good 3-4 episodes before you can decide if you like it, so I think you've got a good plan, Carrie. I also think neither of those shows is for everyone. I have friends that I know wouldn't like it even if they tried due to the violence, nudity, cursing. We tried to watch Breaking Bad last summer and couldn't get into it. Tried again this year and watched the first 4... and by then we were hooked.

Yeah....I'm like that with any series. The nudity, language, etc doesn't bother me at all. I think I just need to watch a few more to see how the storyline goes. I actually really liked a few of the characters personalities.

The Vikings is one I want to start, I am imagining it to be like Game of Thrones. I hear Rome is good too. Another one I hear is good but didn't get around to would be Boardwalk Empire.

OMG I totally forgot one that I love... Dead like Me. Kind of a twisted drama/comedy about a girl who gets killed by a toilet seat and then learns to be a grim reaper. This series is over but ends with a movie so you get closure.

Another one similar to that is Pushing daisies.

Oh and one of my all time favorite shows... Firefly it was only one season but ended with a movie so it's all wrapped up. LOVE this show (its sci fi) and has a major fan following even though it was only one season but with the movie at the end you get a complete story.

If you like Breaking bad you HAVE to watch Shameless.
If you haven't seen the walking dead, prepare to set aside some serious quality time with the TV. One of my all-time favorite shows, hard to pick between the walking dead, breaking bad, shameless and Sons of Anarchy. They are all so fantastic.

I am to scared to watch the following! My husband loves american horror story, but I am way to much of a chicken to watch that one although I hear it's fantastic.

From what I read, Season 2 ended up going in a different direction, because Colin O'Donoghue broke his leg (Captain Hook). Season 3 is pretty great, they go to Neverland in the first half of the season.

I'm watching West Wing Now, we'll see if I stay into after Rob Lowe's character leaves.

I'm adding
MI-5 (anyone watched this?)
Gossip Girl
Bomb Girls
Suits
Chuck
Alias (what about this, anyone watched this, I never did when it was on)
Land Girls (another British show I'm curious about)
The Killing
Supernatural (Netflix seems to think I'll like this one, LOL!)
Friday Night Lights

I have a few others on my list, but I think Sean would want to watch them with me
Hell on Wheels
Sons of Anarchy
Longmire
Robin Hood
Lost

American Horror Story, I LOVED the first 2 seasons, I did not like last season, I only watched about half of the episodes and stopped.

DH and I just started rewatching Dexter. I watched it very sporadically and DH watched it but his memory is awful, so we're rewatching it this summer.

I think most of them have been covered, but I do think you would like Orphan Black (Amazon)...I totally binge watched it a few weeks ago.

I'm now on Season 2: Episode 3 of Orange is the New Black. It's safe to say that I think I'll continue to watch it. LOL!

I really hated this show when we first started it. It really hit home way too hard for me. But once I got a few episodes in, I was better.
Once we were a full season in, it wasn't so hard to watch because the "use" wasn't a focus.
In the end, we were liked the series and were kind of upset that ended, but it was probably time.

^ this. I think a lot of people get bored with the Who episodes. Torchwood has a lot more going on throughout I think. Love both though.

If you people like SciFi ish stuff, Orphan Black is definitely one to check out. I am super duper sad I have to wait until Spring next year for S3.
