Default What is the longest time you've spent making a layout?

What is the longest time you've spent making a layout?

I've literally spent a month or longer on some pages. I will work on a page, not think it looks right and then come back to it several times before 'publishing' it.

Well I have some pages which I had almost done. Just needed pictures for it and never got the right picture and now it has been a year sitting on my harddrive. So does that count? LOL

Hmm... on just one layout? I've spent probably 3 days on one layout that will be published next year... that is the longest. Hybrid takes me a week to complete at times.

I usually finish it in the same sitting...I HATE having an unfinished LO sitting on my EHD so sometimes it takes me all day, but normally if I start it, I finish it then and there....

I'm a slow scrapper. I often sit and look at a LO for a couple days. I just finished one that I stared at for 3 days and still didn't like it, but I just had to stop. I'll drive myself crazy.

I like to walk away several times from a layout... I'd say my longest was a couple weeks... but I'd do other layouts in the mean time.

I also normally finish it in one sitting. I have had ones though that have too many layers and those have taken a few days not cause I kept changing things, but cause its so much work.

An average LO takes me 2 evenings, and when I'm short on scrapping time (which seems to be all the time lately ) average can increase to 3 nights. I have no idea what my all-time longest is, but one I'm working on now has taken me 2 weeks so far. It has a gazillion photos, which means lots of time sorting, editing, and deciding where to place them in the template. I keep stopping work on it for CT layouts, weekend company, and a home project we're in the middle of. I WILL finish it this weekend!

I've got a Family Tree LO that I started in paper when my son was a baby. I finally finished part of it last year. So that's probably 3 or 4 years. Now that I'm doing digi, I really wish I'd done a digital LO, it would've been done so much faster!

I usually finish it in one sitting too. I've had pages that took me 6 hours (non-stop!) to complete. Sometimes when a page just doesn't work out I let it sit on my computer but when I return to it I feel out of the groove and I usually end up changing it completely.

I don't usually stop in the middle of one, but if I do I'll come back to it as soon as I sit down again. I think my average is about an hour, sometimes hour-and-a-half. Now, when I was doing Amazing Digi Scrap Race it was often HOURS or several days! Also a bit longer when I'm doing portfolio pages.

Lol. I never time my make out sessions.

As for layouts, I hardly ever finish a layout in one sitting - too many people and things calling for my attention. So, layouts often take me a day or two to complete. But, I have had some that sit on my hard drive for weeks waiting for me to pick them back up again. That doesn't happen very often, but it does happen.

I normally finish layouts in one sitting except for times when I have to go somewhere or when it's late in the evening. I think my longest is about 6 hours.
But I am nticing that I am getting faster. I think my average in a layout is about 2-2.5 hrs now.

Yes, this has happened. If a page doesn't work, I let go and come back later. And won't publish before I'm happy with it.

a couple of times I came back after more than a year for the simple reason of having forgotten about them. :-)

I have also finished lots of pages in one go, so it totally depends on Madam Muse.

And some hybrid stuff might take 3 evenings even if I do in one go, because it simply takes time (you need to draft it, print it, cut it out, put it together, etc.).

FOREVER + 1 day!! I hate that I can be so slow!! I went on a scrapping hiatus for quite a while and am really trying to kick it in gear again but I'm just too darn slow!

I usually finish my LOs within a day but there is this one layout that has been on my EHD for over 3 months!

I always finish them the same day...but I have had to save and walk away for awhile. Layouts take me a minimum of an hour and a half, and generally around 2 hours a page...I have been timing myself lately out of curiousity...and when I'm having a rough go of it 2-3 hours per page. I did 6 layouts this week and I was watching the clock to see

I am definately faster when it comes to my digi scrapping than when I do paper layouts...My longest paper layout took me about 2 months to finish (it was for a contest at cku) I was way excited because I won the competition and don't usually submit work...
Digi I seem to work on for a day or so and if it isn't coming together the way I like then I get frustrated with myself and delete the whole thing and start over another day.
I am definately sharing this post with my dh though because sometimes he asks me how I can spend all day long just doing one layout!! haha

Two hours. Most of my LOs take 30-45 minutes. I am a very simple scrapper.

Days usually. But each day maybe an hour or 90 mins. Of distracted time! I can never find that window of time to actually get to dedicate to scrapping!
