Default yum yum....lets talk about snacks

Ok so, it is 6 am and I woke up with a headache. So I got up and grabbed some tylenol. As I was passing through the kitchen to get to my room, I could not resist grabbing me some peanut butter crackers. So here I lay in my bed, eating crackers and drinking a diet coke while catching up in the forum via my blackberry. Aaggghh, this is the life.
So I started wondering what some of your favorite snacks are. I have a few that I eat almost everyday:
Peanut butter crackers
Pretzels
Popcorn
Lay's Limon chips (totally diggin these big time)

So share with me, what are ur fav snacks?

apple and peanut butter

and our new fav snack is to take a stick of string cheese cut very thing and microwave on parchment paper for a minute... the cheese turns all brown and tastes like cheese nips. Yum!

Dark chocolate chex mix
Chips and Queso
Eggs. Does this count as a snack? I love eggs... eat them all the time...
Cheez Its
Moon Pies
Pretzels dipped in marinara
And whatever our neighbor is baking... she takes a cooking class and her parents don't like sweets, so she brings over cookies or bars or pie or something about once a week (in exchange, we give her the ingredients she doesn't have in her pantry, like a stick of butter or a cup of milk)

...okay, so mine aren't really all that healthy... lol.

I don't know if these qualify as snacks, but these are my weaknesses:

- paprika-flavoured Crunchips

- Tyrrell's mixed root vegetable chips

- rice crackers

- white olives with feta cheese from Auchan (found no photo, but I think it's not necessary)

As you can see, my tastes are predominantly salty. :-)

ETA: I almost forgot - I won't say no to walnuts, almonds, raisins and such.

Wow, there are some yummy snacks listed here and lots I love and hadn't thought of in awhile. I go in spurts with my "go to" snacks.

These also give me some great ideas for after school snacks for DD.

I don't snack much, but when I do I usually go for

*shredded wheat (preferably cinnamon)
*90 calorie chocolate chip granola bar
*Lays Baked BBQ chips
*pretzels

I absolutely LOVE real beef jerky, and if I'm lucky enough to be able to stop at Woody's Smokehouse in Centerville, TX, I pick some up (at about $26/lb, it's not cheap...but it's good). SO that's probably my favorite snack, but I do not have it very often.

Normally I love sweet and I eat too much junk for snacks... but I'm trying to eat healthier so my snacks are:

~ smoothies (banana, frozen berries, water)
~ apples & peanut butter
~ blue corn chips w/ salsa & grated cheese
~ applesauce
~ yogurt w/ granola & berries
~ whole wheat crackers & cheese
~ air popped popcorn (drizzle of real butter)
~ sugar snap peas
~ honey crunch Corn Flakes (with or without milk)

Normally my snacks would be chips, popcorn (loaded w/ butter), chocolate (at least 1 bar a day), pop, etc. I'm a snacker and it was becoming a huge problem for me... weight kept creeping up on me. I really don't want to continue THAT trend, lol! Oh, how I will miss my chips though!

Totally OT, but am I the only one who, after seeing the title of the thread, had the Salt'n'Pepa song running in her head? Here it be with changed lyrics (appropriately to subject):

Let's talk about snacks, baby
Let's talk about you and me
Let's talk about all the good things
And the bad things that may be...

:-))

lately, I've been addicted to the tortilla chips -- gotta stop eating so many of those! Otherwise, pretzels, biscotti, pistachios, crackers. I'm usually a salty snacker too.

Major score for our family today! We went our local grocery store and they were selling all of their bulk foods on clearance. So we picked up all that was left of almonds, walnuts and brazil nuts.

Yum snacks for a few weeks!

I also saw in one of my coupon circulars this week a snack that looked mighty tasty.....A tortilla with PB & J spread on it then a banana laid in it and rolled up like a taco. We are going to try them tomorrow for breakfast. Only on wheat tortilla and sugar free jam cuz of B's diabetes. May be a new fave for me! LOL

I should not be reading this thread at 11:15 at night....now I'm hungry!! lol

My most favorite snack is tortilla chips...such a mad addiction to those!! I especially love them with cheese dip, but I have to limit myself on that since it's not so healthy. I also love goldfish crackers. I do love sweets, but I usually crave salty snacks.
