eh Robin I hate working out too...I do do it everyday but eh I get distracted easily and I find it pretty boring too...I do sometimes catch an episode of a show on netflix while on the elliptical..but I prefer to run on the treadmill over that and it's hard to watch a show and run..at least for me I just have to remember it's good for the body so I suck it up for an hour or two for the sake of health

I'm with you (and Meghan) on working out. I don't like it. I get bored. I get antsy feeling like I should be doing other things. I don't feel better after. I keep looking for something I enjoy, just haven't found it yet.

Have you ever tried jazzercise? I've been doing it for going on 9 years now and I love it. In fact, I just become an instructor this month! I tried joining a gym or doing it on my own in the past and hated every minute of it. Jazzercise hooked me from the beginning FYI - there is a promotion going on this month for free weekends, you can go on the website and see if there are any classes in your area.

I felt exactly like that! Walking on a treadmill or elliptical is just plain boring! Then I started taking martial arts classes. Serious workout and no terrible music. Lots of milestones to keep you going. I just LOVE it. It's the only physical, athletic thing I've really enjoyed and WANT to go to class!

Wonderful interview--you're both very inspirational, Robin and Libby!
As for the exercise, I've struggled with that for years. I finally joined a gym in Nov. and have been going 3x a week since then (minus when the kids are sick and can't go to school or the gym daycare) which is the most consistent I've ever been about working out. The only thing that gets me through it is audiobooks (and text to speech on the kindle). Watching tv is no motivation for me but an hour to listen to a good book I can look forward to.

Great interview.
As for exercise, you have to find what you personally enjoy. I finally found mine. I run a couple of days a week, for me its a way to lose myself in thoughts and just enjoy my time moving. I also take fitness classes at least twice a week. I love those! Being active with other people, having someone tell me exactly what to do for peak burn and moving in different ways is so much fun. Really, just keep trying things until you find what is best for you. Whether that be playing tennis, learning taekwondo, going for a walk or heading to the gym. |

Robin, I had no idea! You are amazing, woman! I, too hate working out. I always think I'm supposed to feel great afterward, but I don't...and I don't get to where I crave it...ever. lol You're both doing an amazing job! I'm very inspired!
