I was wondering this today coz i find myself doing the same stuff over and over again. The same element placements, same photo placements....... i'm just stuck in a bit of a rut really, how do you branch out and try something else?????
I want to be able to fill a whole page but i just cant do it....... aarrrrrrggghhhhhhhhh!!!!

I don't think all your pages looks the same but they all do show your style. I think you have more of a simple clean design to most of your pages. They all look fab!

Maybe find some eclectic/cluttered type pages and lift them?

I checked out your gallery I do not think they all look alike. I do see some similarities in the syle but it is such a gorgeous style I wouldnt want to change it. If you want to try something else though find someone's page you really admire and lift it. Give it a spin. Use the theme or title or kit to give inspiration if you dont want to do an actual lift. Use templates for inspiration. There are some really gorggeous ones on here this month. I dont think of yours as really simple but more of clustered. Which is pretty much my favorite style. I love really well done clustering. I also like simple for some pages and the eclectic style for some. I also noticed you do blending on several and do it really well. Just my two cents but I dont think you should worry about it...your pages are awesome!!

Oh, Em! Your pages are not all different and are completely fab! If you want to do something different though go to Sugarbabe Cindy's gallery and lift one of her pages. She has a style like yours only she fills a whole page a lot. Go lift a page like this one:
https://www.sweetshoppedesigns.com/i...6&limit=recent

or this one:

https://www.sweetshoppedesigns.com/i...723&ppuser=433

I do think your pages are gorgeous hun, and so you so definitely don't worry about it!!

Well I happen to love your style Em, so don't change it! Half my favorites are of your layouts!

I don't really have a 'style' because I use a ton of templates and do lots of lifts!

Yup, I know I have a style, and for the most part, I go with it rather than trying to fight it.

Cindy's pages take my breath away, but I just can't do them myself. I've tried to copy her/that style in the past, but it takes so long and feels so foreign that it's not worth it to me. I'd rather have two or three pages done in my natural style than one forced page that makes my brain hurt, kwim?

My style is definitely evolving, though, and I do play with different techniques within that style to see if I want to add them to my regular bag of scrappy tricks.

It also helps me to remember that no one else in my family or friends will ever appreciate whether I did this or that or spent x amount of time on the page because all that matters to them is the photo + the story, and that's what should matter most to me, too, no matter how I do it.

I must have a style because I've had comments like "I saw this in the gallery and right away knew it was you."
I don't see it, but it must be so if that's what I'm hearing.

I don't think all your pages look the same, I think they all have the same style. Which is not bad!!!! I know without even looking at the name underneath if you made a page. But if your looking to branch out, I would just start doing some lifts of maybe more shabby or eclectic scrappers, since your style is so bold and modern. Otherwise I think we all agree....

You totally rock it girl.

Now me I think mine are all the same and it bugs me. I get so aggravated with it.

That's right. "Hi! I'm Emily, and I have a style called amazing."

Say it with pride.

And I love what you had to say, LeeAndra; wise words.

I definitely have a style. I think all my lo's look like "me". lol. I do occasionally try to do a minimalistic lo just to do something different, but I'm just naturally drawn to include lots of elements, layering, and clustering in my lo's.

I absolutely love your style! They are all a little bit different but yes they still have your touch!!
I really don't have a style....most of the time it depends on the kit I am working with which way I go with it

emily, keep doing what your doing cause it works!

i tend to feel like my layouts can be too cluttered and too big. i love your 'refined look'.

what i've started doing lately is looking through the gallery and picking layouts to stick in faves that i can learn something from. i'm learning to mix it up that way. but honestly, i think all your layouts have very different design. your fabo at mixing it up.

Oh girl, I understand that feeling because I have it all the time, but your style is completely fabulous and gorgeous! I think every page is a new creation and I actually really admire your style and try to emulate it alot.

As for me, I find myself feeling like I flit between styles...sometimes my more traditional paper style of scrapping and sometime more artistic. Either way I feel like I do the same things all the time and I wonder if my gallery looks disjointed and full of 'lemons' as I experiment. But I kind of like experimenting too. Helps me to branch out a little.

My gallery's all over the place. I think maybe it's just because I haven't found "my style" yet. I'm still experimenting and learning!

And I love all these AMAZING scrappers who are complaining about their gallery. It makes me laugh! I think if they had any idea how many of their pages were in my favorites, they would stop complaining and embrace their style!

I know how you feel (despite your gorgeous gallery), I've been feeling blah too, not very creative. I've been trying to do something different, playing with placement, composition, using elements in a unique way, but nothing I do looks good anymore! It's so frustrating, and it won't go away. I'm tired of feeling like this, I even joined another CT thinking it might stir up new ideas, but no luck!

Em, you have a great style! Your layouts are perfect! I have no idea if I have a style because I have no self-awareness when it comes to that kind of thing.

I LOVE your pages Emily! I don't think they look the same as each other at all, but I can usually pick them out in the gallery because you definitely have a unique style. I would love to do pages like yours, but I find myself filling up the page with "stuff" all the time LOL.

PS Thanks for the compliment LeeAndra

Em your work is unbelievable and very creative....You inspire many people here.

I have the opposite problem where I get frusterated and think I dont have a style.

Im constantly inspired by different people here and all of my work reflects different elements in different designs. But thats just how Ive always been...I like to learn new things and be versatile.

That being said there's a lot of times where I see a kit and or photos of mine and it just speaks to me, I just know right away what to do with it and it turns out great....I think thats how you work and its working for you.

Your amazing Em,and whenever you want to try something new, do what the others said and spin a lift on someones design. Or take 3 or 4 designs that are different than what you normally do and draw something form each .....
