Default Kitchenaid or Bosch Mixer?

Ok- so for the last 9 years I have been using a knock off brand of mixer that is "like" a Bosch. It broke this weekend right in the middle of my dozens of mini cupcakes!

I like to bake and mostly make cakes, cookies, frostings, etc. Sometimes I make bread and cinnamon rolls too.

So- let me know which you have and why you like it!

I have a kitchenaid, but not because I did any research and specifically chose this one, just because I knew the name, my friends had them, etc. I do like it and have never had any complaints.

LOVE my kitchen aid - even though I don't bake.

I don't know about bosch brand... I got a kitchen aid because of the quality behind the name... I also used them in a bakery I worked at while in college... they are awesome and I have a ton of different add-ons you can get from grinding meat to making pasta...

I have had 2 Kitchenaids that broke on me. One was the regular one the other the "professional" one, with the thing on the side that moves the bowl up and down. I took the first to a Kitchen Aid service center and it still never worked right. NEVER heard from Kitchen Aid after sending an email. It was only 3 years old and my Mom had hers for over 20 years with no probs. The problem was the spring coming out-the one that pushes up when you put on an attachment. It would loose it's spring and scrape the bottom of the bowl and no amount of raising the attachment up helped. My Mom's spring is totally diff than the way they make them now. I have a third that I inherited. If I ever have to buy another I'm getting a Viking.

I LOVE my KitchenAid... it's my second because the first one broke within a month of having it... I had no problems with their customer service... they sent one right out with a return label for the new one. I've had my 2nd one for 10 years w/o any problems.

Love my Kitchen Ad. We had the basic model for about 5 years & then I found the professional size one as a refurb, bought it & gave the old one to a friend. 7 years later both are still going strong.

Love the attachments too. I have the food grinder/pasta maker combo. Grind my own chicken, pork & beef for burgers & meatloaf, plus fillings for homemade hot pockets & steamed buns! My friend got the ice cream maker attachment & uses it year round. I want to get the pasta roller attachment. Mine makes spaghetti & macaroni but I want to to do lasagna & ravioli

I've never used a Bosch either. I have a Kitchenaid, I've used it for kneading fondant, as well as other regular baking things. I have never had a problem, I love it! Mine is not a pro one, but it's higher than the lowest level too...I forget what model it is.

I have a KitchenAid. Got it for Christmas 2009. I've used it twice! I prefer my hand mixer! It's just SO big & bulky & takes up so much space so it stays under the counter in the cabinet. If I had more counter space & had room to leave it out, I think I'd probably use it more!

I heart my Bosch, and have had friends with Kitchenaides have Bosch envy when they see mine. They know the Bosch because their moms had them. My mom, MIL, and grandma all love theirs and use them a lot. I've found that easy access to mine makes me use it ALL the time, and I love it! I use it for cookies, frostings, breads, rolls. I've never used it for cakes, but I should next time because I'm never happy with our hand mixer.

My SIL is a professional chef, and she personally uses a Kitchenaide, but so did her mother. She had to upgrade to the professional one (made with stainless steel in the motor) after breaking 2 of them, but she still loves it.

If Bosch is what you are used to, then you'll probably like Bosch better. That's what it seems like to me.

OK- I did it! I researched many places. I don't make bread that often, and most places say that the Kitchenaid is better for everyday baking, while the Bosch is best for bread. I think the test that sold me was from America's Test Kitchen (I am in LOVE with them).
So... I just bought this beauty!

And I decided to add on these...
The Sideswipe Beater

The Grater/ Slicer

I will get it tomorrow. Now to decide what to bake when it gets here!

Thanks for all of your input! ♥
