Default One of THOSE days 😩

Because I know you ladies will understand... Lost my computer today to lightning It also took out a TV and DVD player, our internet is down, and the AC isn't working properly. Just so you understand the significance of that last one, I live in Texas and it's August!!

My biggest concern is the cost of fixing all this, but it's also starting to run through my head that photoshop will be back to default once I get it loaded again... I'm sure I won't know all I'm missing until then! I also have the pleasure of trying to get all my stuff restored from backblaze. Good times, I tell you, good times!!

Ugh. So sorry! But . . . counting blessings . . . aren't you glad you have Backblaze? Hope you get up and running again soon and without too much trouble.

Oh no!!! I'm so sorry lightening has damaged so much, especially your a/c!! Lightening killed a few things in our past, but never my entire computer that was unfixable. I was able to get a new motherboard, but had to completely replace the electrical in one wall as it melted my router, my phone line, etc. It was a mess to replace (and not covered under renter's insurance)--well, housing replaced the electrical, but we had to replace everything else. Hopefully yours is covered under your homeowners? Either way, I hope they are all easy and inexpensive fixes and that you are able to get them replaced quickly--especially the a/c!!

Things could definitely be worse, for sure! I just restored a file from backblaze a couple of weeks ago (as a test) so I feel good about what should be backed up there. The fan for the AC is running, but it's not blowing cold air... Point being, it's not as miserable as it could be! I hadn't thought about our homeowners insurance, need to look into that. My house isn't even 2 years old, so I also need to verify that the AC isn't still under warranty, hubby doesn't think so.

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear this. The same thing happened to my friend who lives in CO a few weeks ago It should be a covered loss under your insurance. Good luck!

that would be awesome if it were covered under the warranty instead of filing an insurance claim. A few years ago, my parents house was struck and killed a few electronics like their TV's, their sound system, fridge/freezer. It was a headache for them trying to figure out how much it cost to replace/repair the items and with every appliance, the total got higher and higher. My mom called their insurance company and sure enough for their deductible, they were able to get everything repaired or replaced at a fraction of the cost it was to fix/repair out of pocket.

Oh now....what a nightmare. I sure hope it won't be expensive out of pocket to fix/replace it all. I've got backblaze too but haven't done a restore yet so don't know how much hassle it is, hopefully it's not too bad. Good luck with it all.

Oh, no, what a pain! But hopefully most of it will be covered by insurance and the repairs and replacements will go smoothly. Good thing you have Backblaze--can you imagine if an EHD had been your only backup and the lightning took that out, too?

Oh no...that's not fun at all! But thank God you have a backup. I understand about having a fresh Photoshop without your fave actions, styles etc loaded...it's frustrating

I hope the process will go on smoothly for you!
