Default gmail questions

Hi. Since I've been having issues receiving SSD emails, newsletters, etc lately, I "broke down" and made/acquired a gmail address. I did it on my iPhone yesterday. Seems to be working okay. But, I'd like to figure out how to access the emails while on my laptop.

Currently, when I access my usual emails, I open my Chrome browser which is set to open up the AT&T Yahoo window which has a place to click for MAIL. That takes me to my emails from my good old email address that I've had from Bellsouth for over 20 years, I believe. lol I want that easy access (to the Bellsouth emails) to stay. So how do I get to the gmail emails? Anyone know? I clicked on something last night and it seemed to act like it was going to update my usual/long-standing email address to the new gmail one and make the new gmail one the "main" one. I don't want to make it the main one, so I backed out of there. Ugh. This is part of why I've just stuck to my old address forever.

It looks like I can, from my phone, forward gmail emails (such as download links from SSD) to my bellsouth acct then open the bellsouth emails on my computer to do the downloads. It seems it would be easier to go straight to the gmail emails on my computer, though.

Any tips? I suppose in many ways I am old-fashioned, stuck in my ways and/or technologically challenged.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I have my different email inboxes bookmarked in my browser. That might now be the easiest way, but I like looking at each inbox separately.

I just figured out how to click on the icon at the bottom of my computer screen (task bar?) that looks like an envelope and set up access the emails there. Had to enter some stuff first. lol I'd love to have access to it through a bookmark on my browser, though. Gotta figure that out. But, at least I figured a way to get to it on my laptop. Yay! lol

I have a bookmark for google search on Edge. I am logged into my main Google account when I click on it. On the top right is a link to my gmail account.

I can get the emails on my phone and table but prefer to use my computer.

Bookmark gmail.com ... that's where you'll get your gmail emails, in your browser. That's how I access mine (I have quite a few gmail accounts - and we use gmail as our platform at work)

You can forward your gmail emails to another email account, which would make it easy to see both your original account's and the new account's emails. I found this Google Help article, which has links to various ways of forwarding: Automatically forward Gmail messages to another account

I just realized I'm not getting the newsletters either- but I have a hotmail account. Weird. For my gmail, I just open a new tab with chrome and then select the little Mail hotlink in the UR corner.

Are you using a PC or Mac? If you use a Mac, you can just add your new account to the Mail app so all email addresses are consolidated to the same mailbox. You should also be able to do this with Outlook, regardless of PC/Mac. [see here]
