Default smart phone suggestions Verizon

I want an iPhone. We're with AT&T now

BUT! Dh wants a phone that is on Verizon. His phone is dead & he needs to get a new one. His employer is willing to pay our contract breaking charges if we switch from AT&T to Verizon, just so long as DH has a working phone in his hands Monday morning. So now I am faced with having to find some other kind of phone.

I want a phone like an iPhone for Verizon. I will listen to music, watch podcasts & check the web with it more than I will use it for calling people. I also want fun apps because I like playing games, or storing .pdf or .docs with crochet patterns or recipes. Regular or touch screen keyboard is ok with me, but I'd like a decent sized screen

Any suggestions for an iPhone type of Verizon phone?

My hubs just got the Droid Incredible.

I think it's pretty much exactly like the iPhone.

Hope that helps some!

I just got the Droid by Motorola (A855). So far I really like it. My sister has the iPhone and we can pretty much do the same things.

The Incredible is the newest one, but it is only touchscreen and I wanted a full keyboard which is why I got the Droid.

I just got my Droid Incredible Thursday night. I. Love. It. It does everything an iPhone could do. There are TONS of apps and most of them are free. I love it. Have I mentioned I love it?

The drawback, though, is there's a waiting list. A friend of mine decided to get one after seeing mine and she ordered it yesterday. It'll be here in four weeks. It's totally worth it though.

Here's a video comparing them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xj_aREHqWw8

The Droid Incredible knocks the iPhone out of the water and will be my new phone in a few weeks. It's AMAZING.

I have the Droid. I like the slide out keyboard which the Incredible does not have.

We were just talking about apps on another forum I'm on... here is a list of what was mentioned so far...

Amazon: I use this to scan apps and see what user ratings are, if amazon has it cheaper, and to add things to the wish lists I keep for everyone (makes Christmas/Birthdays easier!)

shaazam: listens to music playing and identifies it

Google Goggles: scans logos and pulls up info on them

Days Until: Fun app to keep a count down to important days

Dictionary.com: self explanatory.

Droidlight: Turns flash into a flashlight

Google Sky Map: Fun app about the stars

Mabilo Ringtones: Free ringtones

Slacker Radio: Streaming music (good if you have an unlimited data plan)

OI safe: password keeper

The Weather Channel

Weatherbug

Voice recorder: I like to make recordings as reminders and email them to myself...especially handy when driving and you suddenly remember something.

trying...patiently...to wait....for our new Incredibles...to arrive............................................ ............................

I want mine now! We've pretty much been in the dark ages for cell phones (DH's is 8 years old) with no texting and no smart phones, so with the new every two we signed up to both get new Droid Incredibles. But yes...there is a backorder! So now we have our phone chargers, our phone protector covers, our data cards, and our screen covers...but no phones! We have at least a week more (probably more) to wait. So I've bookmarked this thread for now. Glad to hear you all love yours!

I have the HTC Hero, it is amazing, I teathered it last night and now I can internet anywhere, just download PDAnet app and it lets you use your phone as your "hotspot" its great. I am trading mine in for the EVO next week I am on a waiting list to get it. Pam

I really wanted an iPhone (I'm an Apple girl) but our contract is with Verizon. So, I ordered the HTC Incredible. I waited three excruciating weeks for it. It finally got here this past Thursday, and I am SO in love. I seriously LOVE this phone - probably a little too much.
