I have vertigo.
It is awful!
I never go to the doctor for colds/flu/viruses etc because I just don't. So when my ear started hurting a month ago I ignored it because there were no other symptoms and they were highly intermittent (stabbing pain one time then nothing for two days) Well the last 3 days I have been dizzy, nauseated and intermittently disoriented, so I knew I had to do something. I have had frequent problems with my ears as an adult (narrowly escaped tubes in 2008...I ummmm never went to the appt because I was too scared LOL) And it cleared up on its own. Anyway sure enough it's vertigo. Being dizzy sucks, I don't appreciate it, and I'm going to lay back down until I feel better...I don't even want to read or watch movies/tv because it's too disorienting. I just lay there. Bo.ring. See ya when SSD stops spinning LOL! |

I saw your post on FB and wanted to "DISLIKE" it...this just sucks for you! If you have to be stuck in bed, I hope that you are at least getting spoiled and pampered by the hubby!

Ugh, that's awful. I spent my entire first trimester dizzy. It would get to the point where I would start to black out. It was awful. I hope it goes away soon for you!

One time I had vertigo, and my roommate put some peroxide in my ears and it cleared right up so I could go on a hiking date that night. I couldn't walk straight or anything.
I highly suggest finding some podcasts or books on tape (librivox.org has free ones) to listen to in the meanwhile. That should at least stem the boredom.

I have positional vertigo sometimes and it is the worst feeling in the world! I can so sympathize!

So sorry to hear you are going through that! I've had vertigo off and on for years and it's just horrible! One of the first times I had it really badly I was home with my twin babies and my 2 other small boys and I could not walk - I made it to the bathroom to throw-up and then called my husband who rushed home. I've had it like that a couple of other times also and it is so not fun! Lying on the sofa is about all you can do.
I hope it passes for you quickly! |
