Default Wool fans... just FYI!

Hugh Howey's new book is out and it's already soooooo good. I'm just a couple of chapters in and yeah, intrigued straight out of the gate!

If anyone wants to read along - I'd love to have people to chat with about this one!

Gah! Why do you do this to me!?! LOL

Ok, I'll grab that one to read after I finish Gone Girl. (Yay! I just saw that it's free lending with Amazon Prime!)

But you seriously have to read Timebound so we can discuss, k?

I'm planning to read it over Spring Break. I just can't commit to something that in depth until then.

I've been reading the Wool book, and really struggling to connect with it. I'm up to the part where the new sherriff has just been appointed and the mayor has been poisoned, so I know I have a ways to go, but it's moving so slooow for me. I look back at how many pages I've read, and I think that really not a lot has happened yet. I want to love it, but I don't yet. Tell me it gets better?

I started Wool yesterday. I'm about half-way through..stayed up way to late reading it..my kids won't leave me be so I can just sit and read. I love it when a book is that good that I don't want to put it down

I just discovered your book club, and while I put a bunch of the possible choices on my wishlist, and bought one already, I'm not good about getting into forums and following along. However, I saw this Wool thread, and HAD to comment!

If you weren't aware, as I wasn't when I began reading Wool, there is a whole subculture of authors and books, called Fan Fiction. I had to Google it. Wool has a LOT of fan fiction spin offs, and many of them are EXCELLENT. I actually only found one author I wasn't enamored of, but the rest, I read everything they wrote based on Wool.

Hmmm ... I might try Sand. I read Wool and liked it, but not quite enough to read more in the series. I'll see if I can grab it via the library.

You know, I've never read Fan Fiction because I just wasn't sure that it would be as good as the original. Do you have a particular Wool fan fiction that was your favorite?

I finished the Wool series this time last year and it was soo good. One of my best reads of 2014. I read Sand last month and really liked it too. I just wish there were more of it...right now it's just a stand alone but I hope he revisits that world because I really enjoyed it.

I'm not into fan-fiction but I know a lot of people enjoy it. I guess I feel like if it's not from the original author it's not part of the story.

That's kinda me too.

I still haven't read Sand. Oh goodness, I'm reading the North and South trilogy right now, and I have about 10 books that I want to read "next." Lol.

I really liked Ann Christy's spin offs. They were well written, and it felt like I was continuing with Hugh Howey.

Hanna Elizabeth also has a good writing style. Look for her Wool fan fictions.

Carol Davis was okay, not as good as the other two, but pretty okay.

As I look through Amazon, I see a lot more Wool fan fiction that I hadn't read!

The Fever series by Karen Marie Moning is pretty intense, but I loved it. She also did a Highlander series that is fantastic (has time travel & sexy Scotsmen lol, and is a teeny bit connected to the Fever series. Nothing major, but they're both set in the same world & same Fae world.)

I read the first book and was sucked in even though it wasn't a book I'd normally read. I should pick up the next one. The timeline of the series confuses me though
