There was a get together this week....
For those that are not friends with Laura (emmasmommy) or myself on facebook:
I got to have Laura and her girls this week at my house. They got here Sunday evening and left this morning. Their trip was cut short due to a death in the family so I had to let her go a few days early. The plan was a full week. Let me just say......WE HAD A BLAST! We did crafts, we shopped, we ate like royalty, had a photo shoot that lead to quite the adventure (will tell in moment) and basically just REALLY enjoyed each other's company. Our kids are amazing together and get along so well. It made it all the easier for us, the moms. This is our second time of getting together and it won't be the last. She really is my bestie and I am so thankful for this community and crazy hobby that brought us together.   Okay......mini version of our photo shoot adventure......I wanted to take her girls out to this barn in our town for a photo shoot. So we get out there to realize that the field was WAY different than I remembered. We have had tons of rain so it was really overgrown and basically a hot mess. I didn't want to miss the lighting though (we were there at Golden hour) so we carried on. There were TONS of bugs and mosquitos. Not good with a bunch of girls and of course we didn't even think of bug spray. THEN we noticed a tick crawling on her oldest DD. Yea.....that didn't make it any better. So we were quickly getting these pictures while swatting at the bugs only to realize we were being approached by a SKUNK!!! Yes. Like less than 20 feet away heading straight for us. We made the kids run to the car that I had running because my youngest was watching the DVD player during all of this. It gets better..........my van ran out of gas while it was sitting there and I had no clue. This crap only would happen to us. Kids starting freaking out (my DS being the worse of all of them) thinking we were stuck forever and going to die. Yes, that dramatic. Luckily, I had our babysitter and her friend with us who came in her car. We sent them with money to get a gas can and some gas. It was the LONGEST 20 minutes of our life to wait for that gas. The kids were freaking out. Moral of the story..........if you go to a field for a photo shoot you need a full tank of gas and some bug spray. Also.........watch out for skunks. LOL Here are my favorites from the photos that was almost the death of us! LOL     Thanks for letting me brag about our girl time. I highly recommend meet ups! I have had several and always had a great time!

Looks like fun. My husband and I are planning one with Tanyia this month. It will be the first time I will have met someone from digi-scrapping

i can't even reply I seriously cried for the first hour I was driving home. (so...maybe i'm PMSing...but it's not every day that you can spend every hour of 4 days with someone and not get sick of them. AT. ALL) Thanks gals. Tara really got some awesome shots of us and I'm SO glad we risked the buggy, skunk infested mess. Seriously. Only us. was a fabulous few days

LOL. I just looooove that photo of all three ladies 3> I saw it on FB too and I can't say enough how awesome I think it is! Laura the girls totally have your smile! Love! And beautiful golden hour lighting!!!
