Encrypted! Help please!
Back in March when I switched from Vista to Windows 7, all of my scrap products that were created by MAC users (K.Cronin-Barrow, Scrapkitchen, Zoe Pearn, etc.) became encrypted . I posted about it shortly after and got some responses about where to go to try to fix it, but most of the decryption software is over $100. I wanted to see one last time if anyone knew of something cheaper, or even better, free, before I try to go back and re-purchase all the stuff that has been affected. Thanks for any help!

Do you still have the zips? or do you delete those? If you still have them you might can just unzip them again if you haven't tried that already.
I'd go thru your store account and get your invoice numbers and perhaps email the individual designers before I rebought everything. Did you email Robin?

Can go you to your specific folders, right click, choose properties, on the general tab choose advanced (on the bottom), and make sure the encryption is unchecked?

The 'encrypt data to secure files' box is checked, but if I uncheck it, it says I don't have permission to change it.

are you set as admin/owner of the file? (could have been disrupted when you upgraded?)

Also, in case there's no way I can find to fix it, how do I get in touch with those 3 designers?

(I c&pd this from windows LOL I dont talk like this.. ^_^ )
1. Right-click the folder that you want to take ownership of, and then click Properties. 2.Click the Security tab, click Advanced, and then click the Owner tab. 3. Click Edit. Administrator permission required If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. 4. Click the name of the person you want to give ownership to. 5. If you want that person to be the owner of files and subfolders in this folder, select the Replace owner on subcontainers and objects check box. 6. Click OK. Then do what meggy said again

hmm, now I'm more confused... when I unzip it asks me if I want to copy it without encryption and I always say yes.
what is encryption? |

I think you are ok Sarah..hers was when she upgraded from Vista to Win7
I think it has to do with the type of files the products are since it's the Mac files she can't access. They are formatted differently (in vista especially) (NTFS, FAT, etc) Encryption is really used when people make programs, etc so their data/info is all jumbled up so people can't steal their coding, etc

Weird. I upgraded from Vista to 7 and had no problems at all. Good luck getting everything back!
I unzip like Sarah, and always get rid of the _MAC OS Files (or just skip unzipping them if it comes up). I wonder if when you unzipped you did something different. Do you use something other than just the regular old Windows Extract?
