Anyone good with recoloring?
Hi!
I need to recolor some stitching and I am lost on how to do it. I tried the tutorials here but still couldn't get what I needed. I want to make them the same color as one of my papers. I use CS6 to scrap in. Thanks for any help! |

A hue/sat adjustment layer is quick and easy.

(rasterize your layer first if needed, just right click layer and choose "rasterize layer"), then select image.adjustment.replace color and use the eyedropper (near bottom left) to click on the color you want to change and the click on the color box below to select which color to change to.
I use both of these all the time. NOTE: when using the hue/sat adjustment layer, if you select the little hand tool you can click on a specific color group to change, also ticking colorize box on and off gives you more choices too.

An easy trick is to use clipping masks to clip the paper that you want to match to the stitching first, then change the adjustment layer to "color". You can also change the levels and hue/saturation of the stitching to make it match the color better.
