Positive thughts and prayers needed!

Nikita, my gorgeous, 16.5 year old, wolf hybrid started failing pretty badly over the weekend. We took her in to see our vet today and he found masses in her stomach. He is very afraid she may have cancer. We take her back tomorrow for a full series of test, xrays and ultrasounds. Just last weekend she was acting like a pup the way she usually does. I'm not ready to let her go yet so please pray that it's nothing horrible and that it is something easily fixed. And please pray that if it is something that can't be fixed that I can make it through losing her. (I refuse to be selfish and keep her with me if she is in pain and is suffereing)

I'm praying for you and sending you huge hugs. We had to make that difficult decision with our 17 year old puppy last year, and it still is hard for us today. We talk about all of our good memories with her often.

I hope that it's nothing serious and that she can stay with you longer, but I also hope that if she can't, that God gives you the strength to get through that.

Thanks ladies! We took her back to the vet tonight for bloodwork and an ultrasound and it doesn't look good. The masses have grown larger overnight. She has a crapload of pockets filled with fluid either in her uterus or her intestines, he can't tell which. We go back Friday for the results of the bood, urine and feces tests. We are almost certain that we will be bringing her home for the weekend and then having her put to sleep on Monday barring any miracles. My heart and soul are just ripped to shreds right now but I'm going to put on a brave face and enjoy these next few days with my girl.
