Default Decorating Advice

I need some help. I have fallen hopelessly in love with this fabric by our very own Zoe Pearn:

I want to use it in Ari's bedroom. The walls are white, and we can't paint, so all color has to come from the embellishing I do. ; )

Right now I'm thinking that I want to buy her a yellow or light pink quilt and use Zoe's fabric for the curtains. I want to set up her twin bed like a daybed and put some brightly colored pillows on it.

So my question is, do you think that fabric is too loud to be curtains? There is another flavor of the same pattern but with a white background, but I just crazy love the green.

I love them both! And either one would work.

My personal taste would be go with the white one and pillows would be a nice punch with the green.

i'd do a light pink curtain with a big, wide band of this green fabric 2/3 of the way down...something like that. if you're just doing curtains across the top (what's that, a valance?) then the green could be ok but full length curtains (or even half length) might be too much.

i LOVE the idea of tons of color with white walls. that'd be so much fun!

I LOVE the green one! I don't think it's too much, but since it's such a strong colour you need to balance it by putting something bright green in another part of the room as well.

I agree with Britanee, I think it would be too much to do a whole curtain, but a panel of it would really pop. You could also do a pillow on her bed or use some of the material on a canvas or frame it for one of her walls.

How about getting a nice big frame and making it into a message board, so there would be a nice big punch of it on the wall but less than if you did curtains. You could also do a simpler curtain and use the pattern for tie backs. And since I am about to make seat cushions for my girls small table and chair set.. How about a seat cushion too :O)

So fun! I don't know if it would be too much... with white walls it would be super fun. I used some of zoe's fabric to make a banner/bunting and I love that. So regardless of what you decide, you could incorporate more of it and others in a little banner. Or cover some canvases or something.

I like the idea of white curtains and using the fabric as accent pieces. Either a band across the top of the curtains, down the side if the curtains. You could frame a piece of fabric, make pillows, make a quilt out of coordinating fabrics that would lay at the end of the bed, etc.
