PGAD 2/2: Groundhog Day

I hope everyone is excited about our month-long birthday celebration! I have a fun challenge for you today that coincides with a quirky tradition here in the States and Canada. Groundhog day is a lighthearted cultural phenomenon that blends weather prediction with a touch of whimsy. It started in 1887 and is celebrated every February 2. The most famous Groundhog Day celebration takes place in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, where a groundhog named Punxsutawney Phil emerges from his burrow. According to tradition, if Phil sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter; if not, an early spring is predicted.

Sooooo, my challenge is for you to create a page (made primarily with SSD products) where you share your preference for winter or spring. Yes, it's that easy!

I may be in the minority, but I absolutely love winter. It is my second favorite season next to autumn (and a close second at that). Here is my page, chronicling my love of winter (image linked to the SSD Gallery for credits):

My vote goes to spring, I really can't wait for the cold and dreary days to be over... I need sunshine and a little warmth (not too, so no summer for either). April is my favorite month, not only because I'm born in that month and we got married the day before I turned 26.

I'm torn because I love all the seasons with a small dose. I grew up in France and we had all the seasons, then I moved to the US, lived briefly on the East Coast then moved to Seattle area for 10 years and I hated it there it was so depressing, so gray all the time (Summer was my fave there but it only lasted maybe 2 months)

But then we moved to Maryland on the East Coast and I'm loving all the crazy seasons. It's super cold and dry right now but soon it will be Spring and it's pretty awesome because as soon as I get tired of one season we get the next... lol

I had to play too! I LOVE winter- but only when it's THIS kind of winter- I love the snow and the cold and then the sunshine when it's all bright, happy & sparkly. This is NOT the winter we are currently having & I'm having a real bah humbug about it... So I decided to do some scrap therapy & scrap the winter I want lol!

We love winter! Which is good since I live in Minnesota. We have sadly been lacking in the winter department this year. We have no snow at all!

Since I live in Florida, we never see snow. I chose to scrap a winter page since that means I am on vacation visiting my family up north. I don't want to live full-time in a wintery area, but I do enjoy visiting and playing in the snow.

While I do look forward to the arrival of Spring usually, I am more of a Winter person if I have to choose between the two. We don't get much of an actual Winter season here where I live now, so I try to enjoy it when it does happen. There is a bit of magic in a freshly fallen snow.

growing up in the Adirondack mountains of New York, i MUCH prefer winter to any other season. we got only the bare minimum of snow this year and thanks to that Punxatawney rodent, it appears we will be getting an early spring. HOWEVER, i'm hopeful for a good nor'easter before spring kicks in.
