Default a few questions

Ok girls, I'm going to attempt my first hybrid project. I'm decorating some wooden letters for my niece, and adding ribbon to them(hanging from the bottom) for her to clip her hair bows and things to.

I plan on printing out digi papers, and gluing them to the letters in diagonal stripes, covering the seams with ribbon. I got some mod podge type of glue... Will that work? If I were to put the glue on top of the papers, do you think the colors will run? And also, will regular computer paper work or should I use something else? TIA girls! I really appreciate any insight you can give me

Sounds fun! Mod Podge is great. When I've done this in the past I put Mod Podge on the wood, then place the paper and let it dry. Then when I'm done finishing off the edges (trimming, sanding, inking, etc), I'll apply a final coat of Mod Podge. If your paper is dry, you shouldn't have a problem with it running.

I almost always use Epson matte double-sided presentation paper for my projects. I have tried many different brands and nothing else out there compares to it. You *can* use regular paper, but I personally would use the presentation paper.

Good luck, can't wait to see how they turn out!!

One caution - make sure it's really dry before putting on another coat of glue. It might take a day or so to dry, but make sure it's REALLY dry.

Bubbles may happen, too. Usually, unless it's a crease, they go away as the paper dries, so don't worry overly about seeing bubbles in the paper.

I usually spray my paper with a sealer before using mod podge to prevent any chance of running... otherwise I'd wait a few days for drying to make sure the ink is super dry, but you still could have issues which is why I use the sealer.

I use this stuff

My advice is when you put on the 1st layer of mod, put it on very thinly/lightly and don't fuss with it...
