More expensive than the price of gold

Apparently inkjet cartridges are more expensive than the price of gold? I guess I can believe that! I've recently tried 3rd party refillable cartridges and it's been problematic. After poking about various forums, it seems some folks have had good experiences with CIS and don't encounter the same problems of refillable cartridges.

I'd love to hear any feedback you guys might have! I use a Selphy for photos and it's adequate. I enjoy the convenience despite it's shortcomings. For all my other hybrid needs I have a Canon ix6520. I love it, but I really need to establish some kind of good bulk ink system . . .

I use a laser printer exclusively right now, but am looking into a dedicated photo printer just for photos and I am also running into the issue of ink being so pricey. I love my laser though because it's not too bad to refill and I only have to do so every two years or so

Another laser printer user for the bulk of hybrid... and then I use my ink jet HP CS5100, I think it is for a few photos (I don't print a lot of photos so I usually just get them from Walgreens)... the printer is a few years old. I'm going to have to start looking for a new one...

I exclusively use my color laser printer. I love it. We spend maybe $100 a year on toner and I never hesitate to print out anything I want to print. I print probably a thousand dollars worth of coupons a year (that I actually use, many more that I never get around to using) so I end up saving way more than I spend every year thanks to the printer. This year I did all of the calendars that I usually order through Shutterfly or elsewhere. They turned out great. I would be lost without my laser printer!

i use a canon iP3600 and iP6500. i never use original inks, but also no refillable cartridges. i'd rather spend some more money and don't have a mess while refilling them
