Default Ice Age-Dawn of the Dinosaurs..

Has anyone seen it? If you did, what did you think?? It's says it's PG for humor and peril. Curious about the 'peril' part. I would like to take my 4yo to see it tomorrow but would like opinions. Thanks!

Mine are 5 and 3 and LOVED it. The 3 year old freaked out a bit when some of the other characters would say that Sid was dead, but we just kept telling him Sid wasn't dead and he was fine.

I took my 4 year old and he loved it. There are big dinosaurs with big teeth and they roar loud and fight, but there's no gore or anything. I would say the 'peril' comes from some suspenseful parts during the fighting and a scene where the gang is riding a pterodactyl to save Sid who is in danger of falling over a lava water fall.

We are planning on taking Isaac on Friday - he will be 4 in a few weeks. So glad everyone is having great reviews. We have spent the last week or so watching Ice Age 1 & 2 and he loved them. He is so excited to see this new one - especially since it will be in the movie theater with popcorn. Oh to be 4 again...sigh.

It's funny...you all are talking about taking your young children, and my husband says to me last week, "We need to go see that!" Mind you, we NEVER go out to movies, much less anywhere else, and yet he says he wants to go to this movie! It was funny...if he ever comes across the first or second movies running on cable he watches them...it's pretty funny. He loves Sid

It was okay. My 2.5 year old fell asleep & I actually got bored a few times. It's just like all the other ones, but with dinosaurs.

Of the movies that I have seen with the girls this summer (2) - Night @ the Museum 2 was far better - it kept everyone's attention.

so glad i'm not the only one! it wasn't a big hit for our family either. my dino-loving DS was nearly bored to tears. he's 3½ (and totally obsessed with dinosaurs) but i think there was just too much boring dialogue and not enough dino action for him.

I quite liked it too - my kids are older so no problems but --- there was a little girl (around 3) who was quite petrified - crying a lot during the "scary" parts - so much so that her Dad had to take her out.

The humour is above the understanding of your average 3/4 yr old (most of the laughs I heard came from the adults - that doesnt seem to matter too much if the characters are cute - which they are - and of course they win out in the end!!

If you have a little one that gets spooked easily Id reconsider seeing it. They arent going to be devoid of life's fullfillment if you give it a miss!

We saw it in 3D. My kids LOVED it (10 & 8)! There was much laughing during the movie. And they said they HAVE to have it when it comes out on DVD. However, my girlfriend and I only give it 3 stars. It was eh~ Not the worst movie I've ever seen, but it doesn't rank up there with the Original Ice Age, Flushed Away or Over the Hedge, IMHO.
