Default Will you be upgrading to PSE11?

I don't use PSE any longer, but I'm still curious about this because I know that one of the things that many PSE users really like is the simple interface it has - until now. PSE11 has a new interface and I wonder if that will keep people away from upgrading to it.

What about you, will you be upgrading?

I just upgraded to PSE10 a few months ago from PSE6, so nope, I won't be upgrading. It does what I need.

Mary, did you end up putting CS6 up on the shelf? Or are you using both now?

I think PSE10 does most anything a scrapper needs to do anyways, Mary.

Nah, no upgrade for me. I have PSE 9 and I'm fine with that. Never bothered with PSE 10.

Are there any other new stuff added besides changing the interface? Just out of curiosity, since I know I would hate going back to elements after getting PS... but seriously curious for those who can't afford PS, I always recommend PSE and wondering how much they can or can't do

Wow!!! How awesome that they made it light grey again!! It was like that in 3 and when I had to switch to 6 that's one of the biggest things I hated!!! If I hadn't finally learned CS5...that along would have me upgrading!!!

And if you're looking at upgrading - you might want to check into getting it at Costco

Woah... I think the easy install of fx styles and actions are totally worth it alone lol... That always was my biggest issue with PSE

Can I get a link to Linda's blog?

The only thing I wish I could do in my version is have more control over shadows, otherwise I'm totally happy with whatever version it is that I have.

After reading Katie "the Scrapbook Lady's" post today, I really want to upgrade from PSE 9, mostly for the ease of installing actions and styles.

Sorry that I didn't post the link earlier, I wasn't sure if I was allowed to, thats why I just gave her name. My apologies!

As for the light grey UI.... I actually love that on CS6 we have the option to do dark or light... or inbetween. I like in-between, I don't like it too light it bugs my eyeballs!

Thanks for the alert on this one!! I'm still running PSE 7 but since I switched to Mac, I haven't put elements on here (or scrapped) and was going to upgrade to 10. Guess I'll just wait and go for 11!! Hoping for a Costco coupon here too!

Did you note the size and location of the tool options?

Of course, there are some pretty cool new features too.

I have never had a problem installing actions/styles with PSE 9. I have my folder on my desktop and I just unzip and drag into the folder and I'm done

I just upgraded from 5 to10 this summer so probably not. But Marie explain this to me- actions are the one PITA and this would make it easy if I knew how.

Find your actions folder, for me this is the path to find it on my computer: Computer>local disk C>ProgramData>Adobe>Photoshop elements>9.0>Photo creations>photo effects.

Once you find your folder just make a copy of it to your desktop. Once it's on your desktop you just unzip your action folders after you download it and drag the jpeg and atn files right into the folder. The next time you open PSE they should be right there ready to use

Marie that's a great tip! Thanks for sharing

...As far as upgrading...I've been using PSE 7 for about a year (PSP 12 before that) so I am still in love with my PSE 7 and probably won't upgrade at this time...but may possibly in the future.

Kristi, I have to hijack my own post for a moment.... because I need to tell you that every time I open a thread and see your post/photo, I do a double take. You look exactly like my daughter's dear friend in college! If I can dig up a photo of her, I'm going to show you. It really makes me do a double take each and every time.

I guess I've lucked out because I've only had to do this once when something happened to my computer a long time ago. So far, so good!

Just received word that the PSE11 package will be dropping in Costco in about 2 weeks. The cool thing about the package from there is that it includes bonus digital scrapbooking products from digital designers around digidom, digital accessories, and coupons + some fabulous tutorials.

And I won't say that it wasn't a huge honor for me to be included in that package <wink wink nudge nudge say no more!>

Does anyone know what price it will be at Costco? The upgrade through Adobe is $80. Is the Costco box similarly priced?

Does anyone have this yet? It looks like the photo bin and tool options are now in the same place and you can't see them both at the same time. I think switching back and forth would annoy me.

Can you use Photoshop actions and styles with PSE11? I have CS3 and want to upgrade but the cost is a little too much. When I used to use PSE8, it had a lot of cool options that CS3 did not. So, I guess question is is it worth it for me to get PSE11 or limp along with CS3?

You can use them with PSE10, so I assume you can also with PSE11.

You will be able to use layer styles and actions in PSE 11 That's one of the big cool features they finally started doing.

I just looked at some of the reviews about PSE 11. I think for me, the new UI which is gray (that dark black is horrible on the eyes) is going to be well worth the upgrade!
