Ok... Whew! I'm finally here to share the winner(s) for this insane challenge!! Oooooh boy I may have overdone it with this one.

Scoring these was hard and soo timing consuming, but my husband and I managed to get through the entries from of those of you who really went all out and filled your boards and layouts with every letter and scrapbook element possible! You truly knocked our socks off!

However, my husband has informed me "never again", so I'll have to keep it simple from now on. Haha

Because it was impossible to tell the exact order that words were placed on your boards, like we would be able to in a real game of scrabble, we simply started at the center and scored each word on the board in an order that made sense to us using a scrabble calculator. We applied each bonus on the board once to the appropriate letter tiles in your submissions. If there was a question of two words overlapping the same bonus spot, we always defaulted to giving the bonus to the word that would score you the most points. We applied this scoring model equally to all submissions in order to find our highest scoring entries.

Here's our top 5...

And HUGE congrats to our $100 winner nowens who crushed it with 565 points and created a beautiful page too...



I also offered a $30 gift certificate to the highest scoring 7-letter word, and if you recall, I mentioned that in the event of a tie, our team would choose their favorite layout from those entries.

Three of you submitted the same word in the same location! Leablahblah, Mrs Peel and ta_merkins all submitted Muzjiks which scored 82 points, so that means we had a 3 way tie! Yesterday, I polled the staff asking them to choose their favorite layout from the 3 entries...



And "Zipper" as I named it from Leablahblah was picked in our tie-breaker! Congrats Lea!

Thanks again for your patience while we scored these and for pouring your hearts into embracing this challenge to the fullest. It was amazing to see your word lists, boards and layouts! Every single one of you who played along absolutely rocked this challenge whether you submitted an official entry or not. I truly appreciate you going for it!
