Default speaking of bedrooms..

let's talk about.....

BEDS

not the size but the frame. do you have a bed with a headboard etc? It has probably been a couple years now where I was asking about what to do for a headboard and guess what.. STILL haven't decided.

There are times i want to do a DIY rustic wood type.. then I think sleigh bed.. then I think an old fashioned iron bed frame (kwim)

Anyways share if you have a bed with an actual frame type thing or if you are like me and have gone without your entire life LOL!

I have a bed with a headboard and a footboard and the side boards too. I really loved it at the time but if I had it to do over again I think I would chose to make my own headboard and not have the footboard and sideboards. I really love the headboard on pinterest where they took an old door and put crown molding on top and painted it. Very easy to change colors if you change bedding. Or maybe a fabric covered headboard.

I used to have one that had metal headboard and footboard. I liked but my kids insisted on climbing it. Now our new bed has no headboard or footboard. I would like to DIY one on our wall.

My current bed has a sleigh-type wooden headboard and a footboard, and before that I had beds with nothing and with DIY headboards. I like this one better. My DIY headboards weren't very good (done with an almost non-existent budget and skill level, LOL) but I've seen some beautiful ones.

We have a metal sleighbed style... hate it! It sticks so far away from the wall... I just don't like it anymore. We have talked for ages on getting something different. The headboard/footboard that is suppose to go with the rest of the dressers and night stands is for a Queen and we now have a King... my father-in-law is in the process of having a new bed built for us from wood that grew on his land, but his track record is like 5 years. So I've been looking at that old door with crown molding that Amber mentioned... my dad has some old doors from the farm house that he grew up in... I haven't seen them, but hoping that they will work for the time being.

We have not had a "bed" in years and years.......like 9 years I think. I am REALLY wanting one. I pinned this on pinterst........ I am thinking this is what I will do......

But I want to do my colors with grey and yellow w/ black accents.

I also pinned this one.......I liked the look of it too......

I just want something that is different from the rest of my house with a little romantic flair..........a little getaway feeling.

images are linked.

I have a metal headboard that I love the look of. Not so crazy about the stability of it or how noisy it can be.

Our bed sits on a metal bed frame but we have no headboard or footboard. Our dressers came with a headboard but it's kind of a put it together yourself thing and we lost the instructions. It's not great anyway.

We slept on a mattress on the floor for 5 years. A while back we bought a new (NICE) bed and since then I keep saying we'll get a new bedding set and such but we haven't. We bought sheets but no new comforter set and no new headboard. LOL

we bought this bed a few years ago when we moved - i still LOVE it :

i am less enthused about my bedding:
... we don't have all the throw pillows as they do in the pictures - but it's still a bit too cluttered for me - i really want something a little more classic and simple - like white with a stripe around the edge ..

Just a metal headboard with mission-style wood posts. Kyle built the 8-drawer system below so no actual frame just lots of storage space for seasonal clothes.

I have not had a headboard or footboard in years. We keep talking about needing to get a new bed but we're too indecisive and haven't done it yet. My entire life I've dreamed of getting one of those Scandinavian-style built in nook beds. They look so cozy!

I have an antique bed made in the 40's. It's in a beautiful art deco style - has 2 matching dressers. Only problem - the mattresses these days aren't built for antique beds. We have a box spring and our pillow top and we are well over the top edge of the footboard. So you don't get to see any of the headboard. Kind of stinks but we aren't going to get a new bed anytime soon!

We have this bedroom set. We figured basic and simple would be easy to decorate around.

We have an iron headboard that's in a matte silvery/copper (not even a real color, I know!) color. I've pinned so many headboards on Pinterest, though. I'd love to make one of those great big dramatic ones. Someday.

We slept on a simple frame for most of our married life, then found a great bargain at the resale s hop here and finally got a headboard/footboard. I don't love it, but it sure felt nice to feel 'grown up' in our room and have something good that didn't break the bank. I want to redo it as a platform bed with no footboard and with rolling sections of storage beneath. We need a firmer surface than we have currently, and I want a better system for storage beneath.
